Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This company is one of the absolute worst companies and bills your credit card without permission after you canceled your account.. These people called me about every week for 3 months up until my expiration date to renew. I told them several times I am not renewing and yet they still called week after week. Not only that, at the end of my subscription they charged my card with an expired date on the card itself.

What !!! I immediatley called them and told them to remove that, which in fact they were assholes about and stated that I had to cancel myself. Really??? There is a button located to cancel which they never told me after I signed up that I had to find the button to change it and I only found out after they charged me $168.00 after telling them over 5 times I am not renewing. And my credit card company gave me a credit and then recharged me 3 months later stating I couldnt tell them the names of the morons I talked to.

Are you kidding me...I provided a screenshot of the charge to an expired card and the fact how many times i told them no..Now Bank of America just lost a 25 year customer over 168.00 and not backing their customer at all.. Becket is a bunch of liars and con artist...DO NOT ever use their service...

You Cannot Orally Cancel This Type of Contract

This one statement pretty much invalidates your entire complaint:

There is a button located to cancel which they never told me after I signed up that I had to find the button to change it and I only found out after they charged me $168.00 after telling them over 5 times I am not renewing.

I don't know too many companies that provide anyone the cancellation button upon signing up for a service; their job is to get you adjusted to how the site works, or how their overall service works.  But I digress....  This little button is your ability to cancel your contract and all you had to do when you got the 1st call 3 months prior to renewal is "how do I cancel the contract?" They would have told you to do it through the website; and you probably would have asked where that is on the website, and that's fine.  Instead, you orally communicated a written requirement to cancel and that doesn't work.

The question to a reader in your situation is whether they should have charged the card?  Well, without a proper cancellation, they pretty much had to.  However, what's the alternative?  You didn't cancel, so you would have owed the money; renewal in most subscription-based companies happens automatically.  You probably would not have paid, which would then entitle the company to report a late payment to the credit reporting agencies.  That may have affected you by more than $168...

And my credit card company gave me a credit and then recharged me 3 months later stating I couldnt tell them the names of the morons I talked to.  Well, that isn't the reason either because even if you remember the moron or morons you spoke with, their response is going to go something like this:

"I have no idea what this person is talking about.  I speak to hundreds of people per day.  You cannot expect me to remember one conversation with one person over a telephone 2-3 months ago?  Our policy is to cancel via our website and I have no such record of a cancellation."

The reason the dispute was not settled in your favor is that there is no evidence for a CC company to say this was fraudulent.  I mean I have no love for Bank of America, but there isn't a credit card company out there that would have resolved the dispute in your favor, based on your own writing.

Clearly, you did not cancel your contract in writing since that is requirement under the law.  It doesn't matter whether the website or the company says that or not.  This is a common law concept that goes back hundreds of years.  You admit several times you have no written proof of the cancellation prior to the charge, so there is no proof you cancelled.  Accordingly, don't bother rebutting with "I cancelled before the card was charged:".  You didn't.  You've already admitted that.

And yes, they can modify the expiration date on your card.  I would note this:  If they not charged your card for the reason you provided, then they would have noted the payment as late to the three credit reporting agencies, since you never cancelled your subscription.  Now your credit score is trashed for $168.
