Both Dr. Ronald L. Behner and Dr. Julian W. Behner are dentists in Altamonte Springs Florida. They proudly display a magazine covers showing both As Top Dentist in the waiting room. The staff is dedicated to making your visit enjoyable. They will help verify insurance, arrange for appointments with, and provide a warm and caring atmosphere throughout your entire visit, UNTIL it's time to charge YOU for Unexpected FEES!!!

I was recommended to them by my co-workers which later most regretted after paying for fees that they did not expect to pay.

I scheduled a visit for a cleaning which my dental insurance should have covered. During my initial consultation and scheduled cleaning, I was told that my visit took too long and my cleaning would have to be rescheduled for the following day. No problem, right? Well, instead of advising me that they would charge me for TWO visits which my coverage DID NOT cover. They proceeded to roll out a long-long sheet of fees which made ABSOLUTELY no sense to me. The skinny girl behind the counter was busy using dental lingo and the only thing I understood coming out of her mouth were the dollar amounts of the work I needed. Ummm, can I get my cleaning first sweetheart and later discuss the thousand dollar fees sheet? Thanks!

They didn't have time to do my scheduled cleaning but they had plenty of time to go over how much I would owe and talk to me about a payment plan. Nice!

After my cleaning I was of course hit with the bill for the second office visit which wasn't my fault. So I called their office to inquire about the bill. The lovely skinny girl explained to me on the phone that my coverage did not cover two office visits for the cleaning I had done. And she went on to say.and I quote: These fees are not covered by your insurance company. So I said that I would call my insurance company and she said: Ok, but I WON'T resubmit this to your insurance company. What?!!! Wow!

It's funny that everyone is SO nice when you first walk into the office. But as soon as you leave the Niceness is OVER. It's HARD-CORE Unfair Business!

They threaten with damaging my credit with a bright sticker on my bill. Even though I know that I am being wrongfully billed and treated unfairly, my credit is more important. Get your wallets and billfolds ready ladies and gentlemen; it's Behner and Behner FEE TIME!

I am not employed by this dental office or have any interest in their practice.  I have over 30 years experience in the dental field.  I would like to ask first of all...How long ago did you have a dental cleaning?  There are two factors why your "dental cleaning: took two visits.  First, it could have been a very long time in between dental cleanings and therefore alot of plaque would have accumulated.  Its very difficult to remove plaque/tartar, floss, periodontal exam, cancer exam, xrays in 45 to 60 minute appointments.  Hence the return visit.  The other factor would be Periodontal.  A patient with periodontal (gum) disease is not a candidate for a regular cleaning.  A cleaning (prophylaxis) is considered preventable treatment, a periodontal cleaning in therapeutic. A huge difference.  I believe your situation was the first scenario. Its probably been a long time since you had your teeth scaled and therefore impossible to complete within the scope of one appopintment.  Please consider these probabilites when you discuss your dental treatment with this office.  I am sure they are doing there very best to give you the best treatment possible.  Would you rather they leave your mouth half done?
