i know its a little late on reporting this but the 1996 belmont moblie home is has been and is falling apart. about 3yrs after we got our belmont moblie home it started having small leaks here and there. then after they became big major water leaks. all the fittings has leaked bath tubes, under all the sinks kitchen and bathroom. which floors were made of partical board and they all wroped and broke through, and that has caused mold and meldew. the back side of the house seems really cold, the house  cant be inslated we  have a huge heating bill.the door are like cardboard. walls are like cardboad so thin the with the slight push of the front door it went through the wall.. bath tube in the master bedroom has leaked and reined the floors.. shingles came off every time we had high winds.

the back door cold air comes through it and in the winter time ice has fromed on it. the floors in the laundary room has rotten out also from leaks. when i first saw this house it was so beautiful, after a few yrs. living in it, its been nothing but a nightmare.. i even had to refiniance the house just to put a new metal roof on it. i just found out a few days ago that the house isnt even made for our state with the cold weather and all... i think someone should have to cover all these expense. i dont have the money to fix all the problems all the floors still need to be fix. If anyone has someone i can contact for all these belmont moblie home problems please give me the information. also i cant even sale the home because its not worth anything and i put it on my land that i owned.

we did fix the little leaks here and there.. actually several yrs. ofter my husband was looking through a magizine and came across a recall for fittings on the blemont home i immediately filled it out but guess what.. we were four months too late and they said time was up on the recall. i tried then to get this trash fixed. For one if something is recalled i thought the company would send u a letter in the mail..NOPE.. they did not. back in 2000 i found out i had a brain tumor and a disease called acromedgly for 3 yr. i had to have 2 brain surgery and had to go through radiation..

i cant get a second job because im disabled. i have tried to get in contact with the belmont company but i couldnt find them and somehow i came across this site and was reading a simliar story from another complainer and it sound just like my story in similiarty. and also i read on here somewhere that belmont merged with another company..i dont understand if belmont had a recall why didnt they send out letters to people who bought there moblie homes and fix what they messed up on... the reason i bout the moblie home in the first place was i had a house fire lost everything and need to get a home for my 2kids for real quick so we could try to get life back to normal for them....

i had never known anyone  who live in a doublewide or i could have found out what i needed to check for i was young and  dumb . i have alway been responible for my own thinks in life and i have tried to fix whatever i can.. as far as my area helping people with our so called goverment now unless you dont have a pot to pee in they dont help people who try to help themself  alittle you have to have nothing completely and i do have a place to live... thank you for ur concerns.

You are writing a complaint about a mobile home you purchased 19 years ago? Did you buy a warranty with the mobile home? If so, how long was the warranty period? I can't imagine anyone selling a warranty that is good for 19 years. But the only way to know for sure is to check your contract to see what is covered and the coverage period. Also check for exclusions. I suspect your warranty, if one was issued, is long expired.

It is time for you to take some responsibility for the maintenance of your home. You can not buy anything and not maintain it for 19 years and then want recourse against the company that sold it to you. The very worst way to take care of something is to let it sit for years on end without weekly maintenance.

If you don't have the money to make repairs, then either get another job so you have enough income to repair your home or sell the home with the land. Even if the mobile home has no value, the land is probably worth something. That way you can move to a rental where the property is maintained for you on a regular basis. Also, check with the various state agencies to see if you qualify for some help.
