I believe the confusion expressed by the initiator of this report is simply his/her choice of word for questioning themselves about how they fell into the trap.
The 'confusion' is really part of the damage that is inflicted by this type of scam. A person is not healed from this damage by simply reading a whole lot of reports after the fact. The damage done is very personal.
Somebody who gets caught in the trap has to admit to themselves that they are vulnerable. I can only imagine the damage that does to your previously boosted ego.
Nobody can rationally explain spending their hard earned savings on scams, so there is no good answer to the question of 'why?'.
Everybody is capable of being duped by these con artists at BHA because everybody is vulnerable to ego boosting and manipulation at some point.
I wish everybody well who is trying to get back some of their hard earned money from these guys.
I found this web site when I was doing background investigation on BHA after making contact with them here in Ottawa just recently.
I had contacted the same BHA location about 5 years ago and went to the first interview. This was all well before there was any good consumer advice on the internet about BHA. I had been asked to return with my wife in the next few days and I had tentatively set a follow up appointment. I had a weird feeling about the first interview and cancelled the second appointment the day I was supposed to be there. I told them I didn't think it was right for myself. Truth be known, it's no good for the vast majority.
I did go to another career counsellor at that time and got my resume redone(very well done, by the way) and some basic career advice for $700.00. I think that was even a lot of money for services which you can do fully well on your own. I did get a much better job out of that process but I did not even need to spend that kind of money to do it.
For the kind of money BHA charges, they should at the very least be writing and printing ALL of your resumes and cover letters, doing company research, doing contact initiation, and mailing ALL of your resumes. For the kind of money they charge, I don't want to even see the hard work of the job search that inevitably has to occur and be done by somebody.
BHA should be guaranteeing results and not charging up front. The consumer ALWAYS loses when they pay up front. The power is transferred from the consumer to the salesman at that point and if there's any problems, you really struggle to get that power back.
The only way I would use BHA is if they guaranteed a job - the kind they like to describe in their pitch - or no charge. I can't even imagine what else they need to be doing for the amount of money they are charging. I, for one, certainly don't care what kind of offices they get to enjoy every day.
Thanks for all the reports. It has validated my feelings from 5 years ago and today. I will stay far away from these scam artists.

"I am wondering what, if any, constructive critisism came out of Adolf's response, and why the rip-off report even bothered to publish it, considering their new rebuttal rules. Is the point of this forum not to help people out? Not critizise them for their mistakes......"
Please don't put words in my mouth, Lisa. The thrust of my communique was not "criticism of any mistakes". I truly wonder how any confusion regarding the motives and methods of B.H. can be held by any reader of this forum. It was sort of a rhetorical question, but I DO wonder, nonetheless. B.H. has pulled an identical scam on thousands of vulnerable people, MANY of which are detailed identically on this forum.
This forum is undoubtably the leading source of information on the bottom-feeders at B.H.

Kristina & others...
Hello people,
I thought I was smarter than to be ripped off by BHA, I even got my wife into this... it's done more harm than good for us... We placed a lot of trust in what the BHA sales mouth told us.. and when reality sinks in and you realize you've been shafted it does more to destroy your self image, esteem, and hope than one may think. Perhaps cuz they pumped you up real good in the sales pitch and then dropped their nice kissy faced routine as soon as they got your money.
In my opinion this is the worst... picking on unemployed people is dispicable!! My wife went to the goverment of Alberta career search seminar, (FREE OF CHARGE !! And one week long back to back days) Yeah, no Meyeres Briggs... but a couple years ago.. maybe even today.. BHA in Vancouver was not even qualified to analyze your data !!!!
The agreements seem very well architected, and notice how you're coached through answering the evaluation forms... if you do go for BHA.. DO NOT FILL OUT THESE EVALUATION FORMS..
People working for or considering working for BHA should know that BHA in Calgary has been investigated by Alberta Consumer and Corporate Affairs and the 3 clients got their money back plus a thousand bucks, but it took along time. In the course of this investigation many things were revealed, some revealed by an ex-employee that was required to testify on behalf of the crown... Since his testimony for the crown, He's been forced to put up money from his own pocket to defend himself from his past employer...
In my opinion, BHA customers like myself and many others need to stick up and tell their story, we all worked hard for our money.. from what i saw way harder than BHA will work after you pay them!
Also anyone interested in engaging legal counsel may want to pass along this info District of Calgary Court of Queens Bench case #0101-01673 seems as though 853797 Alberta Ltd Carrying on business under the firm name Bernard Haldane Associates has an action filed against them by their previous landlord for $107,XXX.XX Also BHA has been to criminal court in Calgary, search for the above Alberta Ltd. co. and you will find the charges, these charges were widthdrawn and 3 BHA cleints were compensated, i'm still digging to find the details... and i will.

I've posted my own report but perhaps we can pool our resources together here in Vancouver. I've already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Vancouver but of course they ruled with BHA because of the "signed contract". I've seen a lot of complaints in the USA and how people are taking recourse. I'm hoping to find someone here in Canada or even in Vancouver that can help us out! Please poast any suggestions.

Just before my first interview with BHA I saw these reports on the website and couldn't believe whatI was reading. I have visited with these people who were both professional and courteous. Is all this really true?? There were lots of other professional looking people in the waiting room. Is BHA really preying on the unemployed? I have another interview next week and will leave my credit cards at home just for good measure.

I am a lawyer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am familiar with Bernardard Haldane's predatory and deceptive practices. I helped a client get back most of the fees paid to Bernard Haldane. For more information respond by rebuttal to this report or email [email protected]

Yes, you can get your money back. It will not be easy, and it will consume a great deal of your time. They will ignore your phone calls and give you a total run-around. They will only offer you a very small refund (if they even offer you any). Get a lawyer if you must. Contact every media outlet you can. Even better, camp outside their offices and tell your story to others and deter them from using the service - once you get the attention of others, they will be quicker to settle.
Hope this helps. Keep up the fight.

Confused? Holy cow! About what? BHA has inarguably been identified as a total scam (hidden job market, etc.) by hundreds of posts here and elsewhere. They have faced and are continuing to face government action both in Canada and the U.S. for deceptive practices.
Pray tell, what does your "confusion" encompass?
