Though I had been very satisfied with Best Buy until this point, I will probably never deal with them again. After purchasing a new laptop in September I decided to try the BestBuy/Deal Tree trade-in program to make a few dollars off of my old computer. The site "use to" state that you would receive a giftcard for the verified amount within 7 days of them receiving the product. Well, it is now well over a month later and still no gift card has arrived.

I have tryed to contact DealTree on multiple occasions but there is no phone number and their email consumer service is TERRIBLE. They sent me multiple emails saying that it is out of their hands now and that the gift cards are issued by bestbuy (which claims the exact opposite). DealTree even sent me an email that had been copied and pasted as the wrong person was in the greeting!!! Furthermore, they told me that it is "impossible to issue the card within 7 days" and that they are "in the process of changing the terms of the agreement." Now the site states that it will be 7 to 14 days but it has still been more than double that time!!!

Last week I tried to contact BestBuy in a final attempt to rectify the issue. After 1.5 hours on the phone and having been passed between 5 different people I demanded to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor, though kind, promised to look into the matter and to call me the next morning. Four business days later still no phone call. I called consumer relations again today and they finally told me they would send out another gift card. I asked if I could have the shipping upgraded or get some payment for the stress and the woman responded "absolutely not, we've done everything in our power to please you." Never was I rude nor disrespectful. The woman then continued to tell me that I've received the highest level of customer service and hung up on me with a "have a good day sir".

BestBuy practically stole my computer from me. They violated the terms of the contract, they disrespected me, their staff was rude and demeaning. No one will take responsibility for the trade-in program and no one knows who issues the giftcards. They will not return your phone calls, they send copied and pasted emails and they treat you like your time and money are worthless. DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE BEST BUY TRADE-IN PROGRAM!
