Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On numerous occasions, I've contacted the BBB to resolve disputes with businesses. It's rarely ever helped.

One time, a company sent me a new laptop that was faulty. When I spoke to customer service, they said they'd pay return shipping because it was their fault. They then refused to. Contacting the BBB did nothing because I was informed that there was some clause in the company's customer agreement that put mediation to another external company or system. I was told I'd hear from them. I never did. I just ended up paying a ridiculous amount of shipping to return a new laptop that didn't work, after being told I wouldn't have to. What's more is that the BBB gave the business an 'A' for resolving things so well. Apparently haivng an external company or system deal with mediation automatically got them an 'A.'

On another occasion, I had a company commit fraud on my credit card. This company toyed around with me for months, dodging me, claiming to be willing to resolve things but not actually doing the work to. They attempted to resolve the issue through the BBB by offering me a gift card. I had them commit fraud on my credit card. I didn't want to be forced to use that money which I never intended to spend at their business on things at their store. The BBB thought this was a great resolution and closed the case, giving them a good rating.

All of this was sickening to me. The BBB revealed itself as corrupt and ultimately more about giving the appearance of a resolution than the actuality of it. Don't trust them with a resolution process. You may end up being stiffed time and again, like I was. I've had better results with the Attorney General (though it's taken longer). Next time, I think I'd just file a police report instead. I put my faith in the BBB and they really didn't deserve it. Allowing businesses game the system like this is sickening. But, you'd never know that from the pretty 'A' ratings they're given. Take them with a grain of salt. They don't mean a thing. Trust me.

The Plain Truth About the BBB-BS!

The BBB and all their BS is a very carefully constructed and deliberately executed con-game which everybody in business knows about. Those at the top of the outfit have raked off HUGE amounts of money from the "take". The capos at the local level also share in the rake-off.

Any business can simply BUY whatever phoney rating they want, then hide behind the BBB-BS when consumers complain about them. The BBB-BS has gone to great lengths to DECEIVE the public and news media into thinking they are part of law enforcement, when they are not.

If this was not their intent, they wouldn't be referring to themselves as "the bureau". Their FAKE mediation process is a FARCE. You are going up against one of their customers who bought their phoney rating with the "mediator" being paid by the BBB-BS. How do you think that's an unbiased real mediation?
