BEVERLY FONG ELMHURST HOSPITAL Abusive of the Elderly, Handicapped, Poor and Disabled Elmhurst, New York
After Dr. Swaby said a severely handicapped, disabled and elderly person could be discharged from the hospital against medical advice, Beverly Fong - Administrator of Elmhurst Hospital -called the police and the police took the quiet man and escorted him to the Psychological ward because the family had threatened to sue regarding a prior unsafe discharge. Beverly Fong and Dr. Swaby refused to listen to the man and his guardian and have his lung biopsied for cancer, and refused cancer treatment to the patient because he was without funds to pay and adequate insurance, but subjected this lovely man to many intrusive tests for his heart while insurance was in place.
In September 2010, the hospital falsified the man's record, let a man go home without supplying any nursing assistance or home aids, and then when the lawsuit was commenced, the social worker fabricated the record that the man's health insurance did not cover the home health aids and altered the medical records. This treatment of the man is because many complaints have been made to the Department of Health and a lawsuit has been commenced. Dr. Ladapo refused to see the patient and also unlawfully imprisoned him by not releasing him when he was neither a danger to himself or others.
Nurse Ostria refused to call and page Dr. Ladapo to see the patient and have him released early (or so she says - maybe Beverly Fong told her not to call). Beverly Fong, Administrator of Elmhurst Hospital, also started screaming about the man's medical history in the hallway for all patients and visitors to over hear, which is a violation of HIPAA laws. Please do not have any family member admitted into Elmhurst Hospital. Nurses seem good. Administrators at Elmhurst Hospital like Beverly Fong need to be removed from all positions of authority as they demean the poor, elderly, disabled, and infirm.
Beverly Fong is being sued for unlawful imprisonment and violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. Dr. Swaby needs to communicate treatment and obtain informed consent for his actions. In short, do not go to Elmhurst Hospital and stay clear of Dr. Swaby and Beverly Fong. If you do not have money, Beverly Fong and Dr. Swaby treat you like dirt. If you are disabled, Beverly Fong and Dr. Swaby violate your A.D.A rights. We need advocates for the poor, elderly, and disabled. STAY CLEAR OF BEVERLY FONG. All tricks of Beverly Fong and Dr. Swaby take place at 5 PM on Friday when it is impossible to take legal action against them.
