HELLO, I am from Memphis, TN area, and yes, I too have been scammed!!! I got a call to a special invite for my daughter to a talent/model "interview" with Ms. Nancy Harris. We were to meet her at the Hilton, in Memphis. She said she had gotten my phone number off a website that I had been on for modeling. I had signed up to a few for my daughter, so I thought okay, why not...but to be sure, I looked her up on the Philadelphia Better Business Website, she was listed and no reports of anything bad, so didn't see anything wrong, so I went ahead to the audition.
She told my husband and I that she agrees to manage our kids careers with a 15% commission for her only if she gets us work. The contract is for 3yrs. and we would be independent and not her employees. All she asks is that we pay for some of the photo fees for those who don't have comp cards, etc. She is paying $1,000 and we pay the additional $600.00. After that, she pays for everything, including new photos, acting classes from here on out, etc,etc. And then comes the SCAM....
She claims the money is not hers, it goes to the photographer, Jared Pio (who happens to have the same address as her management company). Also, her website is still under construction. I have tried to call her cell phone,got through for the first 2 times, and then ...an audition line supposedly and you can't get through to a real person! It's a recording...and jared's phone number, no one ever answers, and it was like everything went weird.
I should have went with my gut feeling when I went to the BBB, in the first place. The thing is, she has that very trusting, charismatic, "every-one likes" personality...and I think that's why she has gotten as far as she has...BUT I AM SO READY TO GO TO COURT!!
I AGREE... I think that we ALL should go to court and tell everyone in a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against these CROOKS, just how many people and children's lives the have wronged. My daughter is STILL upset over "Mis Nancy not showing her her photos!!" Anyone who can let me know anything on the lawsuit please respond, I'm IN!!! Thank you for letting me VENT!
