Bilibi.com Gray Market Cameras consumer fraud rip-off Brooklyn New York
I determined to buy a Nikon Coolpix 885 digital camera, and found that Bilibi.com had good prices. When I telephoned to make an order, the salesperson aggressively pushed attachments and extras, pretty much at bricks and mortar store prices. I agreed, since I did want extra lenses.
I got the camera wet, not a warrantee item. I therefore sent it to the Nikon repair center in Torrance, California. Nikon refused to fix it, AT ANY COST. The said it was "GRAY MARKET", not intended for distribution in the United States.
I contacted Bilibi several times, by e-mail, by telephone, and by postal mail. I finally got the name of someone in Customer Service, Frank R. He claimed complete ignorance of the problem with "gray market" merchandise. There has been absolutely no response from Bilibi to my many e-mails and letters.
Bilibi looks to be a real sleazy outfit. Beware.
