On numerous occasions I informed blink fitness to please cancel my membership. I was traveling and had health issues and was not able to go in person to the gym. I also informed them that sending certified letter was not an option. They continued to bill my credit card without my permission. I also spoke to with a Jamie Burns multiple times, really not a nice person.

I am not sure where you received your law degree from but in terms of giving services this is total nonsense. Also while I was unavailable,  I canceled or suspended all of my of my service agreements until I returned by phone. Blink Fitness was the only business I had a diffucult time with. This is odd to me since it one of the only business that can see I have not used their services at all during that time. Below is some information for you on general business laws.

And thank you for your rebuttal, you reminded me to file a complaint with the state.

As with ANY contracted service you MUST PHYSICALLY go in to cancel a contract. Im sure if YOU dropped that self entitlment YOU would be able to understand. What if someone had a gripe against YOU and chose to  try and screw up YOUR life. So they call the place where YOU work out and CLAIM to be you and cancel the service. Firstly, IF the contracted company did cancel off of a phone call, YOU would STILL be liable for the early termination fee. Secondly, while YOU would still be on the hook for the ETF, the contracted company can be sued for cancelling YOUR contracted service without YOUR permission. So with JUST those two bits of information you SHOULD be able to understand WHY they do not allow phone cancellations. IF YOU want to cancel your contract then YOU need to GO INTO THE FACILITY IN PERSON!!! Anything else is just YOU making excuses.
