I have signed up with TopShelfBrands Brandarama to receive a $2500 Visa gift card. I completed the 14 offers, met all the necessary requirements and mailed them the voucher so I could receive this gift within 6-8 weeks (according to their web site).

They received the voucher and the status of my gift on their website changed into 'CONFIRMED TO BE SHIPPED' Dated October. This was in October of 2007!

Now as I have said. I have completed all the required offers and mailed the voucher for this site and my gift had been confirmed to be shipped for almost 16 MONTHS.

I have emailed this company frequently for the past year about the shipment status of my gift and every single time they had told me that they are working on shipping gifts for my month and that they should mail it soon. The last time I called them and they informed me that they were working on shipping gifts from August 2007 and were running behind.

Yesterday 1/25/09, I received a letter from this company, Mpell Solutions, that tells me to buy up to a $2500 purchase or gift card from any retailer, mail the receipt with yet again another voucher and a copy of my pictured ID license to get reimbursed for the highest amount purchased on that receipt up to $2500; I should then receive the check in another 8-10 weeks.

Let me be clear that My gift was supposed to be shipped in 30 days. When I had called customer service they informed me that it is not actually 30 days but 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks there was nothing.

Here we are after 16 months and they are asking me to spend up to $2500 out of my own pocket to get up to $2500 back from them??? Within 8-10 weeks???? My gift was supposed to be sent out 6-8 weeks from October 2007. This is not a gift, this is fraud. Let's do the math; my account should be up by $2500, not down $2500!

This is a complete ripoff!!! I was counting on this money to pay for my daughter's tuition, not go buy myself something that they MIGHT reimburse me for? What is my confidence that I would ever receive a $2500 check from them - absolutely zero. Something needs to be legally done to put these businesses out of business.

Mpell's UPS analogy is only for the stupid

#2Consumer Comment

Mon, May 04, 2009

The job of any mail carrier is to get something from point A to point B. This report isn't about a failure in transportation and handling. This person received the rebate certificate sent by Mpell. What he didn't get is the payment Mpell promised. Mpell didn't send a check and UPS lost it, Mpell sent nothing of value (and we were told the check would be sent by regular mail, anyway, not UPS). Mpell has one job, that as a fulfillment house. They fulfilled nothing. Mpell said they were going to pay and that never happened. A simple end of the story. Your BBB rating is a mirage. This person thought he was headed toward an oasis, an end to this ordeal with ARG, and all he ended up with was another pile of sand. You. Mpell. Here, let me give you a better analogy: You taking offense to this ripoff accusation, is similar to a mugger taking offense to being maced.

Rebate Letters

#3Consumer Comment

Wed, April 22, 2009

The rebate letters that were sent to me and many Other's were branded with MPell's name. Mpell told us to Make a purchase Equal to or Greater than the GIFT amount we were already approved for a year and a half ago through the Main Company ARG a.k.a. Brandarama/YourTopBrands/etc... No MPell are not responsible for the initial agreement terms with the above mentioned company. BUT. I feel they took on that responsibility when they agreed to do business with ARG a.k.a. Brandarama/YourTopBrands/etc...and send US rebate letters with their Company NAME all over them. Of which we had to comply with this letter and make $1000 + purchases in some cases, Within 30 day's of receiving it. Otherwise we weould Forfeit our Already Earned and CONfirmed Gifts! Bad Business, and Now MPell just wants to WALK away and play Dumb, with no Respon sibility. THe Mpell name is forever and will remain tarnished because of this unless they do the right thing and stand behind Their OWN paperwork and send out the Rebates that were promised.

Brandarama is to blame but

[Mpell Solutions response to prior suggestion...] Again, this is akin to requiring the Post Office to cut a check for a cell phone rebate that was declined by your carrier. Mpell mails a check to the consumer when the certificate redemption instructions, created by our customer, are met. The offer is financed by the company who made that offer, not us, and they only finance redemptions that meet the criteria they established. We truly understand and sympathize with the complaints being posted. In hindsight, our mistake was accepting this type of business. We respectfully ask that you don't shoot the messenger, we're doing our best in the limited role that we have.

Yes MPELL did not cause this problem. I agree. But if MPELL is going to send us a "REBATE" in the amount of our "FREE" gift after we Purchase something of equal value, why don't they simply send eveyone a Check for what They are owed , and stop alll this confusion?

Brandarama is an AFFILIATE site that promises a lot to get you on their site but you never get the "Prize"

It's been a while since I have seen a Brandarama -- Scamarama! Affiliate web site. You ALMOST fooled me --ONCE. They have gorgeous color photography and promise you all sorts of FREE things but in smaller letters it says participation required. FIrst of all, they get you to put your personal identifying information on the front page pretending that you are going to get teh goodies and they need to know where to ship it to you. Uh huh. Yeah sure... like hell they will. They want to get this all up front so in case you realize that this is just a sorry scam and get wise and bail on them, they STILL have all of your identity information and WHERE and HOW is your information going to be used???DO YOU REALLY KNOW???? People lie on the Internet and Affiliate sites are among the worst. What they do after you have provided them with your personal identity information is offer you some selections from pages and pages of offers some of which are marginally legal and most of them are going to ask you for a paypal account number, a credit card number or a bank account number to pay shipping and handling for their FREE or SPECIAL DISCOUNTED OFFER --- Wait a minute! IF THEY ARE ASKING YOU FOR PAY INFORMATION THEN THE ITEM IS NOT FREE AND PROBABLY NOT DISCOUNTED VERY MUCH EITHER ! FREE AIN'T FREE... But people tend to go along with it because they fall for the scam that if they make x number of selections on the site that they might get the prize or whatever drew them into the site to respond to all of the affiliated advertisers who are lurking here waiting to CON you! And you will find that the real FREE stuff on the site will NOT count toward the "prize." For example, you see a beautiful color photo of a gorgeous person with an iPod and the ad promises you that you can have an iPod for FREE if you complete a certain number of offers. THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE, I have seen candy, sodas, expensive cosmetics, shampoos, designer goods, etc. offered even though YOU WILL NEVER GET IT! So you click through until the offers just end on one page and no word on how to redeem your "prize" --OR you will get to the last page and they will ask you for your financial information there. The only problem is there is no guarantee that you will get the prize if you put the information there. IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST TWO YEARS SINCE I WAS SPAMMED BY BRANDARAMA and the freebie web sites used to promote them as well. I am NOT saying that Brandarama was any better or worse than any other AFFILIATE SITE because you NEVER got the prize on ANY of them. If they say that you did THEY LIE! Which is probably why I no longer see this because a lot of other people got wise to the SCAM! And if anyone from that miserable site is reading this, I did NOT appreciate the SPAM MAIL and the JUNK MAIL in my regular mail box at the post office just because I checked out one offer and I knew what I was in for after I filled out the first page with my INTERNET ALIAS! Too bad for you guys but great for me because I could see you rats for what you REALLY were. And word got out. It always does. And I hope that you take your non-existent prizes and your personal and financial identification theft SCAMS and rot in hell. I hope nobody falls for those carnie fake cheap SCAMS again. Once was enough for me.

False Accusation of Mpell Solutions

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, January 27, 2009

Mpell Solutions is a BBB accredited company with an A rating. We are a fulfillment company which simply means we ship products for our customers. Our customers are responsible for advertising and offer eligibility, we are not, and we have no control over their actions. They pay us a fee to ship products to their customers according to their instructions. We are in no way responsible for any of the issues described in this complaint. In fact, we take offense at even being mentioned. It is akin to blaming UPS if you are unsatisfied with a product purchased at Amazon.

There's ample discussion on this company, that by the way has MANY names and sites. And they have sent letters like this to Many other people who have been waiting 12+ months for they're supposed "Free" gifts they completed the requirements for faithfully. If I can add the website where these consumers are discussing this issue I will below. (((ROR redacted))) hope this helps CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
