Budget Equipment Neil Marcellino and his salesman ERNIE Worst experience I've ever had. Ripped off to the tune of $7000.00 Hollywood Florida
I bought a John Deere skid steer from Ernie and Budget Equipment in Hollywood Florida. I originally bought it from Ebay and later spoke to Ernie from Budget Equipment. He skillfully instructed me to wire the money to them direct and he would secure my 100% work ready John Deere. I paid an extra $1090.00 for shipping. In the weeks to follow, my skid steer was not shipped and attempts were made via phone calls to try and ascertain when I would get it. This is when I had the pleasure of dealing with the manager, Niel Marcelinno. This guy was a total unprofessional a*****e. He said they were not in the shipping business and if I wanted the machine I could arrange the pickup and it would be in the back with my name on it.
I then had to hire a shipping company to the tune of $2500 to pick it up in Florida and ship it to me in Utah. When the unit finally came this is what I found: The aux hydraulics did not work, engine cover was broke, interior vent missing, damage to the right rear side panel, Chain case was over-filled and was milky with water, fresh paint on the entire machine that looked like a 3rd grader painted it.
I brought it to John Deere dealer and received a fix-it bill over $5000.00. It turns out the boys at Budget Equipment knew the aux hydraulics did not work so they chose to get underneath the cab and unplug the EMU unit so it would not show the hydraulic code. I ended up having to replace the entire harness which do this date, over a month later, it's still waiting for parts to be sent from John Deere.
To end this sad story, I had to contact a detective (who knew Marcellino from recent cases) from the Hollywood Police Department and have him call Mr. Marcellino and ask him if he intended to send me my shipping refund. Marcellino lied to him stating he had already sent the check out to me. He then back dated the check and sent a copy of the check to the detective. The check then magically appeared in my mail box three days later.
If this story prevents one person from making a bad decision then I have not wasted my time. I am a retired police officer and don't have tons of money to throw on a dishonest business like Budget Equipment and the fine folks that run it. Buyer Beware!!
