Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Having used this software for about 3 years now as an electrical contrator that does design work, I have come to realize that although a useful program, it does not do many things they advertise and quite honestly many of the tools can cause lock up and shut down (at leaast a few times a day). Before I get too far along, yes there are simple people out there that do simple tasks and maybe this would work for internet surfing, but I also do OEM embedded controller programming and see the depth of the problems with this software as sketchy, unprdictable, and unrelaible. They have the right idea but all they need to do is put one round tire on and it would be good stuff. However, they dont listen to the customer well (If I noted every issue with this software, I would do nothing else as it is a constant) and even the simplest tasks gets very frustrating.....ie on a toolbar on the left side of the screen where I keep thousands of custom takeoff tools, you cannot see the description of the tool (imagine all these tools with a very tiny icon...which one is it? Or, as I have mine set up to display the description as opposed to the microscopic icon, the descrription is cut off at x number of characters due to an adjacent column. Bluebeam will tell you that you just grab the divider and slide sideways to increase the view area. However, every time you grab it and slide over it bounces right back! So, is it adjustable? You decide.... as i re visit these ridicuous problems every day and really get no-where with factory, you will grow weary of the continuous barage af square tires they have in this system while advertising  things that in reality just do not work. If they would open thier ears to someone like me that is very in depth and been dong this businees for over 30 years, they would take the market over but as it is they are just another broken tire, headed for filling the gap of slightly useful crap like most others. Wake up hire some good developers that have at least a slight idea of the customers needs and I promise you will quadruple your market...yeah pretty funny I know--corporate does not have ears.

Upon initial installation of Bluebeam, I sat for days on end going through ALL online courses learning to use the software -vey important as the software has many (broken) capabilities. As stated before over the next few years continually going to the support desk, sending emails, writing support for suggestions....and everything sits broken. Look at the response above for clarity. They offer solutions that are not solutions. If you work with construction plans (or have even seen a single set of drawings) you will understand that there are sometimes thousands of symbols on a single page and these pages can contain vast amounts of information. This makes the window containg your plan view work space the most important component to be able to work with it. These "fixes" they suggest are  ill-informed due to lack of experiece and, again, not litening to the user. If you open the tool chest in anorher window increasing the size immensely, you have no more plan view as your window is consumed with the tool chest as opposed to the plan that yo need be see. Here is my bi***: there is a function that has tool tips that are supposed to pop up to explain what your tool description is. This tool tip pop up works maybe 20% of the time. Most of the time it wil not pop up forcing you to click on the tool just to find out what it is, then, you get to undo and continue poking around until you find the right one--this is a square tire and very counterproductive. To reiterate, we are electrical contractors and see production as an imortant part of a work day. All you have to do is get the tool tip to work properly and many issues would go away....really. Yes the solution is that simple but they continue to ignore these things and tell you to do this or do that when they dont even understand what you are trying to accomplish. like I stated before, one experienced individual involved with development would take this company a long way, but that is not the case today as most are not well educated and lack real life experience. So here I am providing simple information for those who want to know the truth. They will assist with problems, they do respond to help requests (my last one was two days ago--they responded 4 days after my request, not acceptable in my book...even four hours can cause a company a great deal of loss if it happens at the wrong time--but again they dont care. Organization and the markups list is another major shortfall....all the basics are there but still almost completely useless without the aid of other software....ie when I need certain lists, I have to take a screen shot, change the file type, then perform OCR and then export to excell jsut so I can print what I am after. There needs to be more sorting capabilites (how about print the maarkup list without the list being expanded---the expanded list is way too much to work with and most often not needed unless you are looking for a specific detal, more printing capabilites....this is just the tip of the iceberg like i said they are close but nothing really works well. How about getting rid of the useless columns on the tool chest so we can see the information we need? They will respond again with "do this or do that" (as it has been almost neverr any real help because the software is broken) and go about thier business as if they have helped you, leaving you with the same problem and the assurence that they will forward for suggested features...After three years I have yet to recieve a single functional fix or see any of my advise taken as these funstions (and many others) are very important in a productive environment, always get the same run around it is now something I am just tired of dealing with.

Thank you so much for your report. Bluebeam has partnered with Revu users around the globe on our flagship software's development for over fifteen years and we take great pride in our collaborative software development approach.

Our developers and product managers would welcome any feedback you can provide about specific features or workflows that would benefit your experience. You can deliver product feedback directly to our team here

To address the one specific workflow issue you mentioned (where descriptions get cut off in the tool box panel) we would suggest that you grab the Tool Chest icon and drag it out of the Revu window. This will result in the Tool Box opening as its own window which you can expand to see long tool descriptions that would be cut-off otherwise.

We would also like to suggest that you contact our technical support department at http://support.bluebeam.com so we can learn more about the performance issues you are experiencing and help you optimize your system for better performance, if possible.

Thanks again for your feedback and please feel free to reach out directly at any time. We're more than happy to work directly with our customers to insure they have the best experience possible using Revu.
