In 1999 we purchased a Burnham V7 series boiler for our home heating needs. The boilers core rotted within 6 years ( 2006) and required replacement. The system was covered under warranty, however we incurred out of pocket costs of over $1000 for labor to replace the rotted core. Almost 6 years to that date the second core failed,( on February 18, 2013) and we are now forced to purchase a new system at a total cost of $7900.00.
We were told now by our dealer that this V7 Burnham system has had a history of failure. We were advised to install a Peerless brand system and warned,based on Burnhams history of offering  inferior products and workmanship, not to replace our system with another Burnham.
How is it that a $20.00 toaster has had a better service life than a $4000.00 boiler?
How can a company like this still be in the business of hurting people?
