Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We  recently purchased a camper from Camper World.  With strong recommendation from the sales person we also purchased  the Good Sam extended warranty plan.  On our first camping experience the refrigerator and CD disc player were inoperative.

Upon calling Good Sam they recommended a repair company in Hot Springs, AR.  The gentleman showed up, then was not heard from again for over a week.  When he did return our phone call he wanted some papers signed and said he had a repair authorization from Good Sams.  After talking with other campers, when he did not call or return our call, his reputation appeared to be unreliable.  The service rep at Good Sam recommended taking it to Camper World for repairs.

After talking to service at Camper World, we were told it would be 2 weeks before they could get to it and they recommended us taking it to a reputable camper service in Hot Spring, AR, which we did.  Today, August 6, 2012 Good Sam refuses to warranty the claim, stating that it was Camper Worlds responsibility.  The supervisor at Good Sam refused to speak to me saying it would be a waste of his time, according to the representative that was helping us when we asked to speak to a supervisor.

It is clear that Camping World and Good Sam are owned by same parent company.  Camper World either sold us a fraudulent warranty plan in order  to cover up defects they were aware of, or since we did not use repair facility recommended by Good Sams they are fraudulently denying claim, and not acting in good faith

There is a ton missing from this report. (That was the guess)

If the trailer is new the manufacturer warranties it. Not the extended warranty company.

If the trailer is used but on extended warranty the coverage is detailed in the contract.

2 weeks in summer is really quick for an RV repair shop appointment.

2 weeks is a short period of time in the summer RV business to get in a special order item like a stereo.

Once the Owner jumps or changes repair shop a couple times the warranty company may get suspicious and refuse a claim for suspected fraud.

Many customers get impatient with the process dealing with extended warranty. The process in my experience is: Diag and quote repair, the submit request to warranty company. Wait for response, this will take 20 minutes to 1 week. Order special parts, fridge parts 24 hours to 4 weeks, stereo from unit manufacturer, 10 days to 6 weeks. Instal parts and test. Pay deductable, and sign paper work. Repair depot now has to wait 30 to 120 days for payment.

Thats why we only deal with the extended warranty we sell.

As for the rest: If you loose your temper, you can give up on fair treatment from the repair shop or the extended warranty company.
