Capital Choice Consumer Credit Tricks
On December 31, 2001, my wife and I received an approval Certificate for a $5,000 line of credit from Capital Choice Consumer Credit Company of Miami, FL.
The Certificate looked professional and included a Control Number along with an Approval Verification number. The Certificate's lead stated, "CONGATULATIONS, you are guaranteed approval for a Platinum Credit Card."
We were thrilled. Especially with a 0% Intro. A.P.R for the first 12 months. My wife is a parapalegic and recently, due to Company cutbacks I was laid-off from my job as a Sportswriter for Mohave Valley Daily News where I was employed for nine years.
On the acceptance form it had two boxes. The first, send $39.00 for Standard Processing and Delivery via U.S. Mail. The second box offered Rush Processing and Delivery via U.S. Priority Mail.
Obviously, we thought for $4.00 more we would get the "Rush Delivery." Then, we began to calculate how much we could afford for a monthly payment and discussed the fact that we could use the Credit Card for Medical Supplies that we've been having to pay for (i.e. diapers, guaze, ect...) after State Budget cuts forced us to have to buy them ourselves.
We spent hours planning a budget and I purchased a money order for $43.00. With everything signed, sealed and a stamp something told me that I shoul check out the Company.
We were heartbroke the minute we read the report from the Better Business Bureau. The BBB displayed the name address and phone numbers of the President of the Company.
We were absolutely disgusted that some-one tried to steal from us with a fraudelent scheme. The name listed as President, was, Richardo Martinez.
I will give him a guaruntee just like he did for us. "I guaruntee him that he has not heard the last of me. Thank You for allowing me to vent, but, on January 2, 2002. Mr. Martinez can count on hearing from me. Guarunteed.
