Well, it was May 23,2002 and I got a phone call from these people. They said that I was approved to recieve a MasterCard with a $2500.000 credit line offer with only a $19.95 set up fee. Thinking this was a great deal, I accepted and gave them my debit card number (WRONG THING TO DO!!!!) and the gentleman sent me to the customer rep who took all my info and told me that a $99.95 annual fee and a $59.95 processing fee would be on my creditcard.

Thinking they meant that this would be debit to the MasterCard I agreed and hung up the phone. A month later I was looking at my bank account online and noticed a $99.95 and a $59.95 debit to my account (boy, did them checks ever bounce) so I called the company and of course, I got the run around. I ask them what my credit limit really was and then thats when I heard for the first time about the "pay as you go" thing.

Never did the operator mention this to me, nor did they say the monies would be debited from my checking account. I called to have it cancelled, and of course, once again, I got the run-a-round. It was a lession hard learned. A total of $179.95 lesson, but I did learn it. So now, I am on a mission to let everyone know that this is the biggest rip off there is and not to get sucked up into it.

If it sounds to good to be true, it is. Im trying to get my money back, but that probably will never happen. So, once agaign, dont get sucked into this scam....its not worth it.

Becky, It is now August 6th, and I have not received my money yet. I had told you I had because I had gotten a letter from Capital first, and also a phone call giving me a date on when all the money would be put back into my account, I just assumed that it would be there (silly me) so the day I posted this was the day I was suppose to get it back, but guess what.....that day has come and gone and still no money from them.....just excuse after excuse......and lie after lie. I have decided that I am never going to get my money back from them, but what makes me mad is that they are still calling people and getting away with it......WE need to STOP them. I got a call again from Capital first about 3 weeks ago (I can't believe they would call me..again) and the lady started explaining what my credit line would be ect....so I just let her go on.....and on, and I asked tons of questions....I just kept her going, then after about 15 minutes, when I asked her about the NO interest.....she explained it to me again. Then I finally said..... "Well that is sure nice of CAPITAL First not to charge interest on my own money." She didn't think it was funny, and hung up on me...... So if they call, ask many questions and keep them on the phone, then we can take up there time!!!!! They have no clue we already know they are SCUM!!!!!!!!

Becky, Ditto on the scam!!! I was totally given the same lines you were by these people. To make this short and sweet, I did end up getting my money back, including the 19.95, because I said I would have never let them send me the package in the first place had I known it was a debit card, I already have one of those. Anyways, you have to file a complaint with the attorney's general in your state, go to the web site......www.ftc.gov, and it will tell you exactly what link to go to so you can file your complaint. It took me 8 weeks to get my money back, but thank heavens for the attorney's general, because what Capital first has done is against the law, and they don't like when the attorney general is after them. Good Luck.
