"They are NOT phishing for SS#s," Yes, you are. Why would you ask for the daughter's SS# then? There is no need for it in relation to your mother's alleged account. You just need someone to attach to the account top try and get money from. i have read all your responses thus far and only once-begrudgingly and belated in the response-mentioned about how your company "could have the wrong person". Yes, they could have the wrong person. It is up to your company to prove these people indeed owe this debt. You can't and that is why you only have vague paperwork and no SS#

More than likely this is what happened... We more than likely do have an account for your mother- I apologize she is no longer with us, but the creditor may not have been updated ten yrs ago with her passing. OR it may have been the wrong family all together. If you get a call again, try to get a reference number, or have the rep search by the name or the phone number we called you at. If you dont know your moms SS#, I am guessing you know when she was born- we would be able to at least tell you if we have the right birthday or not and then you would know if it is correct and we would know if its the wrong number. They are NOT phishing for SS#s, we have one infront of us, we just need to know if its her or not. You can at least verify her bday and that can help answer it. let me knwo if this helps
