Update to my previous post concerning the mysterious credit card trouble. On Friday, March 29th, against the wishes of my husband, I called the 800 number to check on the 'status' of my credit card. Lo and behold, it was now going to be CLOSED and the recording proceeded to explain that within 30 days, the account would be CLOSED permanantly. I spoke to someone and with a shaky voice, I explained that I did not want to close my account...the young man on the other end had to put me on hold to speak to, yet again, another "account specialist". She admitted to being just as confused as me! But, she was able to re-open the account and explained it away as "someone must have just made that mistake". As of today, April 5th, my account is in good standing - with a higher credit limit and lower interest rate than what was previously offered. Strange? Or is this common place with this company? Was it worth my stress and aggravation? I'm still not sure. And I'm still left scratching my head at this bizarre situation. Please tell me I'm the only this has happened to, and I might actually feel better knowing it was a one-time event but somehow, I doubt that. Thanks for reading this.
