Complaint Review: Car Rental 8 - Tampa Florida

Never heard of company so I called to verify what was required to rent a vehicle.  Was told only needed to make payment nothing else.  Ask if I could pay with a debit card as I have for all my car rentals and was told YES!  Get confirmation code and go to pick up car.  Once at rental location they immediaely tell me that they have to run a credit check to rent a car!   Why is this when I just spoke to someone who said I needed nothing else.  Keep in mind I have good credit but do not believe in credit cards.  I was declined.  So now they tell me at Fox Car Rental that they cannot rent me the car I paid for and that Car Rental 8 will be issuing me a refund. I have rented hundreds of cars across the U,S, and now I cannot get approved in Vegas?  

I immediately call my bank to dispute and am told b y my bank that rental car companies cannot without funds until after submitting a final purchase ticket, which will not post since we did not recieve services.  They tell me I will see a pending item for 3 days then should disappear.  

The following day I get a letter stating the following:

Unfortunately, we are unable to cancel. It is clearly stated in our terms that there are no refunds given if you are unable to qualify. I do understand that you are at a huge loss here so I’m able to offer a credit towards another rental in the future for you or someone you know. It’s the only way the funds will get released back to us (CR8) since we get charged whether the car has been picked up or not.

Then 2 days later the funds are released from my account.  I call this person, leave messages, never to recieve a call.   I call the (800) number stating I want to use my credit, which is another scam because they have it set up to where you cannot successfully set it up to be switched allwoing them to complete the scam of never providing services and taking your money!  I gave them an answer to every scenario they tried to ly about and so I was transferred to someone who was suppposed to be a supervisor but lack basic communication skills.  He kept repeating their scam pitch no matter what I said.  I said so basically you are scam artistrs stealing from americans in our time of need, no response.  I asked about why their rep told me I did not need anything that later was a requirment. He said he has no idea who told me that.  I answered with her name and reminded him that their recording says they record all calls so find it!  Of course he didn't expect thtat and went back to his scam pitch.  

He than starrted referencing Sergio's letter and I asked him to read it to me.  He stated he did not have access to it.  I said well how do you know what it said.  No response.  I asked him how the hell do you sleep at night stealing from your fellow americans in our greatest time of need?  No response.  I then started going off again asking for someone, anyone in a higher position because obviously he was not up to the task.  Back to scam pitch.  

I then stated that he knows he is ripping me off and cannot believe he can still try to sell the scam pitch.  I said you had no comment when I asked how you sleep at night.  This time a smug, Very Well.  Then he hung up on me.  

Do not give these crooks one red cent!   They are complete bs and you can verify it by googling car rental 8 scam.
