I worked as a service advisor for an auto repair shop. We deal with all auto warranty companies.
Keep in mind many insurance companies make their profits collecting premiums and denying clamis.
The real crime here is the salesperson who sells bogus used car warranties sometimes will make misleading and untrue statements telling you that for piece of mind you should purchase this warranty it will cover a list of items on your car in the event of a breakdown. What they won't tell you is that they can deny your claim for any pre-existing neglect, modifications, rust or abuse even if the prior owner was the person who did the abuse or modifications. The bottom line? Read through the contract thoroughly and ask specific questions directly to the warraty company not your salesperson (who makes a commission on the sale of the warranty). Also many suspecty warranty companies will not pay sales tax, only pay a fraction of labor and may even want to use like and kind used parts! BEWARE!!!
