Complaint Review: Celebrations Photography - Fullerton California

I signed a contract with Celebration in June 2010, and gave a deposit of $650, with no services rendered... Not to mention HORRIBLE customer service, after you have officially met with them and given them a deposit!  My fiance and I are getting married in August, so we were fortunate enough to  get a photographer (one who was willing to work with the "leftovers" we had from Celebration) and we were not out pictures taken. However, we are out our deposit and would REALLY like to see if there is a way to get it back!!

I filed a report here already against Celebration Photography.  I just wanted to say that this is a Corporation and the Officers are to be held liable.  I'm not sure if we can get anything from them, but I would be willing to try.  Their Corporation has been "Suspended" by the State of California.  I did receive my photos on disk (finally) but that was it.  My photographer was contracted by Celebration Photography and he has not been paid for my wedding as well as others he photographed for them.  He did tell me there are several other photographers that are owed money by Celebration.  My report is from 92504.  And I have a different address in Las Vegas for Jon Kern than what has already been stated.

I did not have a photographer show up at my wedding!  This was DEVASTATING to not only me and my husband, but also to our family members in Mexico whose only chance of getting a glimpse of our wedding was to see the photos and albums.  I will get my money back.  This is the absolute least I deserve for having to go through this horrible mess.  I don't care if I have to bleed his a*s dry in legal fees to get it; I don't care if he gets another lien on his property; I don't care if his cars get repossessed; I certainly don't care if his new business venture fails.  This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that can NEVER be recreated.  

Regardless of their financial situation, they are a business and should have an insurance policy to take care of their clients.  This is fraud, bottom line.  

I too am a victum of this company and would like to know if there is a lawsuit pending the company. Please if someone could let me know and include me, it would be greatly apprieciated. (((Redacted)))

After doing some more research on this scum bag, it looks like he has another business as well completely different from the photography industry. Check out the website http://www.combattactical.com/contact_us.php  It's clearly the same address stated on this original report.  191 Hazelmere Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada 89148 - Office: 702-407-1117 / Fax: 571-434-4620.  Just thought it was interesting...  I also came across his Facebook page.

I'm so sorry this all happened to you! I know a couple who is also dealing with this. Unfortunately from what we all understand, they have filed personal bankruptcy which protects them from anyone taking them to court to get money back, especially if they did actually show up and take the photos. I imagine if any money goes to anyone it will be to the couples who have paid a deposit but never received any services. Yikes! You might end up losing more money on legal fees trying to get money back that just isn't there anymore.

My name is Val and I would like to get more information on how I can join this group to file a lawsuit against this horrible company.  I too have been a victim of their scam.  My husband and I got married back in April 2010 and since then we've been getting the run around in regards to our album, along with other items that we have not received.  We paid over $4k for their services and was shocked when I received that email saying that they were closing their doors.

2/17/2011: Business Name correction ~ Celebration - (not Celebrations); Update Fullerton Police Department is involved - Financial Crimes Unit.  Found another telephone number for John Lee Kern - (888) 382-2757; Name/Title Correction - Shameka Henderson, Chief of Staff is also involved.  Coincidently, she rerurned from a Las Vegas Bridal Fair the same day my daughter had an appointment.

Original Report:

We hired Celebrations Photography (Jon Lee Kern, Owner) for our daughter's wedding held on October 10, 2010. We paid $3,000.00 for a photographer and videographer for six hours of service. After more than 3 months of attempting to contact them, my daughter and her husband spoke with the Operations Manager - Shaneeka Henderson. An appointment was scheduled on January 24, 2011. They selected their photos to go into their custom wedding album. Today, February 15, 2011, my daughter called Celebrations about the status of the album. Today is when she learned the photographer is no longer in business. Shaneeka, the Operations Manager said she no longer works there. Sheneeka also said all business phones will be disconnected and provided my daughter an email address: [email protected]. I am seeking your assistance to legally suit and be reimbursed for the money paid for 6-hours of photography and videography services. I do have a signed contract with Celebrations Photography. The latest information I currently have on this business is as follows: 251 Imperial Hwy #481, Fullerton, CA 92835 - (714) 525-9900 or 1104 E Valencia Dr, Fullerton, CA 92831. Apparently, another business in Las Vegas is opened and the website has the same pictures as Celebrations business in Fullerton.
