CIBC Aventura MasterCard Had us believe we were covered for cancellation insurance with our credit card Toronto, Ontario Nationwide
Beware of misleading information publicized by credit card companies that will lead you to believe you have sufficient cancellation insurance if you ever have to cancel a trip.
Years ago, My husband was counselled by a customer service rep to get an Aventura CIBC MasterCard specifically because this card provided cancellation insurance only to find out that the maximum reimbursement is $1,000 per person.
We have been paying fees every year for the privilege of using this card. Obviously, we mistakenly thought that we were paying to receive certain benefits. Well, believe me, when you have to cancel the trip of your lifetime (a tour of China) because of an unexpected stage 3 cancer and they tell you that your maximum coverage is $1,000 each you are more than disappointed. You are enraged and rightfully so as the limit on the cancellation insurance is never mentioned anywhere.
