City Engine ripoff Dishonest mechanics misrepresented free towing Lafayette Louisiana
Engine Repairs, Free towing... Not True Given a Quote on the phone for 1400.00 for repair and installation of Motor. Said they would call with writen estimate. Not Heard From For Several Days Went To Shop.
Many Disassembled Vehicles(missing Engines). Told That when I signed the tow reciept for a written estimate I gave Them permission to find the cause of the engine malfunction. They Took The motor Apart! Then Gave me a written estimate for 2400.00. I discussed it with several attorney's and they convinced me that the value of the car wasn'e worth the fight.
We just left the car worth about 800.00 without the motor and went on about our lives. This type of scam seems to be pretty frequent amongst repair shops. I believe that this was a common practice for this company for the many cars in the yard in the same state of disrepair, they even tried to trade me one of the other cars that they could repair for less money!
