In January 5, 2007, my uncle Joel Pedroza began working in the Meadowood Mall for the late night shift. I am writting this for him due to the fact that he can not type in English nor does he know any English.

He is asking me to report that Up to date he has not received his first check. Today's date is: February 27, 2007. He has been calling the manager Vanesa Maya for over a month and a half asking for his first check. He has litteraly been given the big run around.

He is continually told that his first check will come in the mail. As in, "Wait until this coming Tuesday and you'll receive it", yet, nothing ever arrives!

Just a few minutes ago, my uncle Joel called her to ask for the check once again and was hung up on. My uncle was told about a week ago by one of the other employees that a meeting was held with Vanesa Maya and some other superiors about missing checks from other employees aswell.

She was given a certain amount of time to give back the checks. I honestly cannot type too much of this since this is what he was told and he is not so sure of how it all happened.

Basically My uncle Joel Pedroza is reporting a ripoff report against Meadowood Mall's late night shift manager Vanesa Maya for fraud on to his first paycheck. They don't wanna pay him!

...file a claim with the Nevada Labor Commissioner (((ROR REDACTED LINK FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)). This is directly off of their website: "Q. I haven't been paid. What should I do? A. First, ask the employer for what you are owed. Then, if you do not receive payment, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Labor Commissioner in Las Vegas or Carson City. For a copy of the wage claim form, click here." Sounds like the only thing you can do at this point. Failure to pay wages is a very serious offense and these people deserve everything they get!
