In August on 2015, I watched a broadcast of an internet video claiming to be a prank on a homeless person named Dorian from Right This Minute on cable.
The video struck me as genuine, and I searched for the campaign that the prankster, Cody Roeder was starting to finance the recovery
for Dorian. I was confident this was not a scam, so like others I pitched in and had some spare money to make a difference
and donated $500 to the campaign. Over the next few months we heard a little from Cody, but after the spring of 2016, there was
nothing but silence. Complaints to Indiegogo, the facilitator of the campaign, was contacted by myself and other donors
to get a reply of the status of the donation from Cody, to no avail other than a standard :canned email response” the wording was the
same each time, with no followup from Indiegogo on whether Cody would reply. Since then attempts by myself to obtain the
current address of Cody Roeder and the name of the financial institution where the donation money was sent for Cody to retrieve,
were not provided by Indiegogo. I am asking that the below law enforcement entities start the process to help all of the donors get the
contact info so that they can start filing complaints against Cody Roeder if they so desire.
I am pursuing legal action to retrieve my donation, made through a VISA credit card, including notifying the US Secret Service to
investigate credit card fraud on Cody Roeder since the donations were made using them. I am also contacting my VISA card company
of this situation so they can put his name among those as possible fraudsters using the internet and credit
cards donations and reduce their losses.
Below are some, if not all, the information I can find on Cody Reeder using social media sources and other tools to lookup information
to contact Cody Roeder to inform him of the actions being taken against him. I am also sending this email out to all donors for their
possible use in getting their money back as well. You will see comments from other donors, some of which may have been planted to
show validity of purpose being similar to comments on products sold online like on Amazon/Ebay to boost popularity of the
product/seller.
