The plastic on the earpiece of my glasses broke the day I
was flying to Europe and my travel companion ran my glasses over to Cohen's to
see if they could quickly fix the part. They said they would do it immediately.
She waited, they gave her a pair of glasses which she popped into the case and
returned to me. I was wearing my spare pair and put the case with the fixed
glasses in  my handbag. My bag was never out of my hands and when I
reached my destination, I opened the case and they were NOT my glasses.

I assumed their was a mix up and returned to the store at  1369
Third Avenue on my first day back in New York and talked with Victoria. She
denied they lost my glasses and gave me the wrong ones. I showed them the my
spare glasses so they could see the prescription was completely different. They
looked, but said they was nothing more they could do.

They also said that it was their policy not provide any
compensation for my lost glasses (though that was not posted anywhere). She
said she would look again and call me in an hour. After an hour had come and
gone with no call, I called them. They said they didn't have my glasses.

I asked to speak with the manager and she was only willing to give
me his first name. When I asked for his full name, she said she didn't know it.
I said I would wait while she found out. She came back to the phone with his
name. (I must said I never worked anyplace in my life where I didn't know my
manager's name.)

I finally reached the manager ("he's in and out") and he
said they hadn't lost my glasses. He said that maybe I put them down in a
restaurant and someone else mistakenly took them. I explained the case and
glasses had been in my possession the entire time and that was not possible.

I am totally dissatisfied with this place!

I did contact Cohen's and they didn't do anything for me.

I also contacted the Better Business Bureau and they said Cohen's has not responded to them.

A friend suggested my next step should be the New York State Attorney General's office.
