Dear Ed, in respone to your report above, you are correctin stateing that the name of the company Alone does not signify integrity or good business practices. The Coldwell Bankers realty group run by Devonshire Realty in the state of Illinois is a prime example. If your readers look under Bank One and read my report on Bank One foreclosures, Coldwell Bankers was the realty company that stole over 1 million dollars of assets from my home as my wife and I were setting up a new business 120 miles away. What I said in my report is truth and can be seen in the Mason County court records where we filed suite. The broker from Coldwell sold our home to one of the individuals operating the local Federal Prison in the area for $140,000.00 against an appraisal of over $300,000.00 without any notice to owners of record, after a phone call and certified letters from us. Thanks for letting me sound off. This has taken a heavy toll on my health and on my wifes. This is something you remember for a long time to come.

Brett, This REBUTTAL was brought to my attention and I feel I just have to respond. I feel, just because they have a great reputation for so many years, does not mean that business will not or do not do unscrupulous things to consumers. After all, look at the Enron case and even the Priests-pederast situation! Who would ever think!? Long, well-established reputations yesterday means nothing today! Please understand, I have no first-hand knowledge of these individual reports, but I am only commenting on your general remarks about standard situations that they have excellent reputations, and can do no wrong. You are so dead wrong. How do you think most politicians and BIG successful business people get where they are today? Most bend ethical conventions. Now, that does not mean all successful business people and politicians, but probably most, ..you can never say all about most anything. However, that is why we are needed. Someone needs to be the watchdog for the consumers for these unethical businesses so we can identify their unscrupulous business practices. ED Magedson [email protected]

The so called "rip off" report is nothing more
than a pathetic attempt by some malcontent to
defame Coldwell Banker Success Realty and two of it's most successful and respected agents.
Both the organization and the agents referred to in the diatribe have excellent reputations as evidenced bu the number of real estate transactions each has been involved in with countless satisfied and often times, high profile clients.
I, as well as Coldwell Banker and the listing agents would urge anyone who enters into a real estate transaction to have their agents do the appropriate due diligence and contact the listings agents directly for questions or concerns if their interest in any property is legitimate.
As for the information which appears on any MLS printout, please be aware that the information is entered by humans and occasionally incorrect information can be posted. This is why, at the bottom of the printout it reads "Buyer to verify all information. Information deemed reliable, but not guaranteed". Per the AAR contract there is also an inspection period in which to conduct further research if necessary. If incorrect information is brought to the attention of a listing agent, more often than not, it will be corrected.
Unfortunately, any organization which, or person
who is successful is often times subject to
such baseless and unsubstantiated claims as appears in this report.
Any consumer can feel confident working with a Coldwell Banker Success agent and is welcome to contact one for the finest in professional real estate representation available beacuse in fact, THAT is what the record shows.

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:
Their email: [email protected]
Their name: rick marcus
Their phone number: @Rebuttal_Phone@
Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion
Rebuttal:
1. The current value of property has little to do with what was paid for it years ago. It has to do with supply and demand. For example, if you bought 10,000 gallons of water for $100.00, and then next week it was found to be the only pure water in the state, it would be worth a lot more than your $100.00
2. When the property is appraised, the appraiser will show a property layout showing what is and what is not included in the square footage.
3. A better solution would be to simply email the listing agent and let them know about the wrong number
