Mr. Colin Maruk and I met through a common "friend" at the time, Charles Bacichett and his girlfriend Carole Legare. I had commented to Charles that I wanted to invest in a restaurant in Mexico more specifically the Puerto Vallarta area. He told me he had a friend who had just opened a beach bar/restaurant and was looking for investors to remodel the place. The name of the restaurant is BREAKERS Beach Bar. The location was amazing and after a few successful meetings with Mr. Colin Murak I decided to go ahead and invest as he promised my money back in a year and all profits after that. The best part of the deal was that I could live in my home in Winnipeg Manitoba and work my 9 to 5 as a contractor while Colin dealt with business down in Mexico. I deposited $80,000 Canadian to his personal account in Canada and he promised to mail me the partnership papers signed by the notary down in Mexico.
A couple months went by and since Colin stayed in contact with me, I was never worried about the partnership papers, he also sent me back $10,000 over that period of time. After about 2 months of not receiving any money and having no contact with him as he was avoiding my calls, I really got worried and I flew down to Mexico to meet him. I could not find him at the restaurant, because I think somebody tipped him out that I was in town, as I called a couple people to try and find him without showing up at the restaurant unnanounced. Finally after a week of looking for him, I intercepted him leaving his home at Aqcua Flamingos. He acted very surprised to see me as if nothing was wrong. I asked him what was going on, why he was avoiding me, and where my paperwork was and he said, look, get in your car, go to the airport, leave the country, never come back, and you wont have any problems. When he said that, I got very angry and started shouting at him, he grabbed me by the collar and said, I will make you dissapear. He is a bigger man then me and I had no option but to leave the situation. I tried to contact some lawyers and quite a few told me that they could resolve the problem easily and that it would only cost me about 5-10k to get my partnership.
After contacting a good friend who is also an attorney he told me that since the transaction was made in Canada, there was nothing they could do for me and I would just waste my time and money if I wanted to go after him. I have seen too many people lose their money in Mexican courts with attorneys who just suck it all out of them so I opted out for cutting my losses. I want to warn anybody who deals with Mr. Colin Maruk to be careful, he may seem like a legit, honorable businessman, but he is after your money.

Dear Marcos Ibarra, your lies to protect Colin will not go unreplied. Our money was deposited to TD Canada Trust account number 0896 6292823. We know you and Colin use the bar to distribute drugs. You got fired from Sunfets for distributing out of there. Keep putting that s**t up your nose.

I' am the original reistered investor of Colin's restaurant Breakers Pub and Grill Their is only one other backer in volved and it is not this suspiciously phony character going under a phony name of Giuseppe Viola. This man is a coward and liar wwho tries to intimidate people with threats and is on many rip off reports. Colin is definitely not a fighter so would never scare anyone the way this person says anyone who has met him can testify to this. First he says he can not do anything in Mexico next he can't do anything in Winnipeg. Anyone who believes that he is an investor and would deposit $80,000.00 into a strangers account is quite a story teller not an investor.
I have a written agreement and have been paid out fully and the other investor is also being looked after. Any person who believes a restaurant could pay back $80,000.00 in a year and then give out profits is a clown from another world. This person who says he is a contractor would have some smarts to get $80,000 after tax dollars to invest, so would obviously do his homework and realised Colin already had major investors and would know you don't want to be third in line and would have no possible way to receive his investment back in a year.
Unfortunately this person may have gotten a lousy Taco and is trying to ruin this restaurant PS. I also know Charles and his lovely woman and they have no recollection of this nut case.
I can imagine this is a pointless letter as no sane person would listen to the rants of such a foolisd person. By the way I'm starting up a restaurant and will take anybody's $80.000.00 deposited in my account and I promise to pay it back in unregistered Monopoly money with in a year.
When you set out to ruin a person business at least try to make your tale plausible say you got a lousy Taco and want your 15 pesos back

Saw Collin Murak in the city last week, I attempted to speak with him and he took off in a taxi, I went to the Police Department to report the matter thinking since he was currently here that we could detain him for the time being. Obviously I was told by the police that since the matter was outside of Canada they had no jurisdiction.
