I too was ripped off by a Comerica ATM in Bloomfield Hills Kroger store #498 on November 29th. The Bank is rude inconsiderate and is not sending out the complaint form, They have lied to me saying that there was a reversal on my account and that the machine ran out of money. That was apparently a lie.

I tried to get an addictional $20 to make sure the next person did not get my money and it refused my card. I made a report to the store manager. I counted the short change in front of the machine and twice along side of it in the Kroger lobby.

I am willing to take a polygraph test and whatever I need to do to get my money and at this point I think punitive damages or someother action is required. If you are a lawyer and will work pro bono, lets get this thing going.

They would not fill out a complaint form or allow me 10 days to think about it if I was over paid. I can account for every dime I had that day. Trust me I wouldn't do all this for $80. But I am not going to let the bank rip me off. HELP.

First Chicago ATM did the same to us

My wife withdrew money from a local (Norridge, IL) ATM owned by First Chicago (we don't bank with them) and came up with a $10 instead of a $20: off by $10.  She was accused of lying when she'd contacted First chicago and that the amount balanced out.

Hmm, so, why would a nice homeowner with more-than-excellent credit start a fight over ten bucks? Because it shorted us, and, we have no reason to lie. We're very community-known, so why ruin a sterling reputation about lying over $10?

So, we're about to embark on the long route through First Chicago's red tape because they offered no complaint form or error report, and worst, turned it on us.

s, stick to the fight and make them see every shred of it. Go public. Many big firms won't budge because they feel if they do one, they'll have to do many more, and local press might be taking their advertising, so a public piece on this sort of thing may not see daylight.

Hit the web! Start a blog and email the bank's offocers about every update. When their lawyers step in the threaten you, strike!

I went to the local Comerica bank branch. I filled out a formal complaint. They had to notarize it. Now I have to wait. The important thing here is that if your ATM transation is at a branch you have a small chance of getting your money. If it is a sub-contracted ATM, you have to deal with the sub contractors word as to whether you were cheated. Not good business. Not good customer relations. Now I can never trust the Comerica ATM. Beware.
