Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On 1/31/09, in Charlotte, NC at a liquidation sale I went to go buy a labtop. I found an Acer 5100 with an ok price. It was labled 2 gb of ram, 200 gb of storage. A gentleman came over and we chatted and he confirmed that it was correct and added it had a manufacturer warrenty.

Now when I get home a few days later and turn it on...ya. How about 896 MB of RAM is what is actually on here. And only 69.5 GB of storage?! Not even close. Completely useless for what I need it for. Not only that but I already checked out the serial number and it is a refab.

Found a name of Vincent Abramovsky with a 90 day warrenty that expired in 1/30/08. 2008! He told me it had a manufacturer warrenty. This is not all. Who sells something that doesn't even work? The dvd/cd rom doesn't work! Can't even add software to this piece.I also called the office in Cleveland durring there recorded busines hours. Still waiting on them, needless to say, to call me back.

On a previous post on this company he had to take a 20% restock charge...and I say please tell me how. I would rather take a 20% loss than be stuck with this useless junk. (If you know how just respond back to this link Rich, Thanks)

Oh and to all who read: Never never never buy a computer from liquidation sales. You are better off going to craigs list or pawn shop.

Interesting that he or she does not give an email, I have had the same situation bought laptops for kids for christmas and they opened them today and dont work.  Very excited about finding out I was more than likely ripped off.  I guess the red flagg should have been paying $10.00 to go in and even buy the merchandise.  I am have my fingers crossed that the company will do the right thing

Wow... these reports just keep getting better and better, and the more I read, the more out of wacked they get!!  My dear sir, if you received that Acer which we no longer stock anymore which was a Acer 5100, then you received a pretty decent laptop.  I believe the specs we had were this: AMD Turion 64 x2 Cpu, 1.5gb ram, 160gb hard drive, 128mb ATi 1100 video card, wireless "g", DVD/CDRW combo, Windows XP Pro, ect..  Sounds like a decent system to me.  Where you got the label of 2gb of ram and 200gb of storage is beyond me, because the system was there on display with the specs i mentioned when you purchased it and that you signed agreeing to this.  Now, I can tell you about the hard drive's space being 69.5gb.  Acer had partitioned this drive into 2 80gb drives for a primary and secondary drives for usable space and backup/restore space.  The video card also is a dedicated 128mb card with 384mb of shared memory which caused your memory to drop due to the shared memory that was used.  So, it sounds more like a misunderstanding and less of proper information given that was caused here.  If something else was still in question and didn't work, then we would have went out of our way to help you with it.  Such as your DVD/CD drive not working, we will still honor the warranty that was in place.  Just to show you that we mean well, we will offer you a 1 year Tech Support/Labor warranty for free from the day that you send/fax in your copy of receipt.  You bought a good laptop from us and we will stand by it.  Please understand we have more than one way to communicate if there is a legitamite problem.  Please either call, fax, or email us from the listing on your receipt.  However, if you were to call us and received the voicemail, the instructions are clear enough to fax us at the appropriate number.  We also offer communications by email if necessary.  Let us know what you would like to do at this point.  Also, small note: I don't think that craigslist or a pawn shop is even close to being a alternative solution for buying a computer or laptop.  They don't offer any warranty, and you have a higher percentage of buying garbage.  There are so many horror stories about craigslist and pawn shops than you can imagine!!  However, call us if you still need assistance.

Thank you,

Compu-Electronics
