Good Riddance to Connecticut School of Broadcasting! An overrated, overpriced ripoff. Although I feel sorry for the students that are effected by this, in the long run the educational scene is better off without CSB.

I attended an info session several years ago at the CSB location in Cherry Hill, NJ, in the Philadelphia area. In addition to a rather condescending staff, the $12,000 price tag got you a 4 month program, which came to about $120/hour. This for a school with a few rooms, and very limited studio space, above a shopping mall.

The school billed itself as an alternative to college. The jerk who spoke during the open house I attended, I believe his name was DeMarco, said traditional colleges didn't teach anything and you'd be much better off at CSB. (Unless you were over 30, but that's a whole 'nother story.) Of course he was wrong. For much less money you could attend a community college and volunteer at a radio station. I've seen it happen.

All trade schools, whether its broadcasting, information technology, HVAC, or auto repair should by regarded with suspicion. They make promises, but once the school has your money the whole balance of power shifts. Potential students should think very carefully before deciding to attend one.

1. Connecticut School of Broadcasting was owned by another organization and NOT d**k Robinson Media when most of these complaints were filed. 2. Anyone who paid their tuition and is a graduate in good standing is welcome to continue to use the schools resources at NO ADDITION COST. 3. If a person/grad does NOT come  in to use these resourses and they are more than welcome to, then, that's their problem. Perhaps they should look at themselves and ask if they LACK SELF MOTIVATION and not blame a school that's STILL OPEN and helping MOTIVATED GRADS....Live The DREAM!!
