Stop trying to call them and do not deposit that check. It's fake. You are dealing with scammers who send bogus checks, get you to deposit them in your bank, get you to send them cash via moneygram (untraceable), then disappear before your bank notifies you that you deposited a bogus check and you now owe them that money back. Think about this for a minute. Do you recall entering this particular contest or lottery? Of course you didn't. In real life, checks for thousands of dollars, for contests you never heard of, don't come magically floating into your mailbox. In order to pull off a successful con, the scammer must always rely on one essential ingredient. The greed that allows the victim to think he/she will get something for nothing.
