On March 10, 2004 I brought my 1990 Geo Prizm to Cottmans to have them look at my speedometer cable on my car they came back and stated that a gear was not position right in the transmission to the cable and they might be able to fix it for free, so I said go ahead and fix it I walked by my car and saw a mechanic digging in the speedometer cable hole in my transmission. They later came out the stall and told me they cant fix it and handed me my keys.

I went to a store afterwards and got back in my car and put it in reverse and the car locked up. I called up cottmans and told them what had happened and they said bring it down. I took it there and the mechanic stated that a gear fell in there and it probaby got cought for a second and fell in the pan. I asked if it will be ok to drive my car he said it should be fine so I left and later that day the transmission blew up. I had the car towed there and called Patrick a told him why it was there and he stated that I have to pay the whole 1000 dollars for the transmission so I proceeded to explain how its there falt. He then ask me if I was willing to settle for half the bill I said sure so I can have my car back. I called there and he stated that he could not find a cheap transmission for it and it will cost 2000 dollars. I told them that I cant pay that. He then said that they are going to sue me so I stated that I am going to get my car.

When I arrived there I called a tow truck and went inside and compained about the situation again. The tow truck gets there and then Patrick offered 200 dollars for my car for is sister I said no and had it towed to home. I called Cottmans head quarters and they stated that the cottmans are independantly owned. I called the BBB and they didnt do nothing. So I got fed up and spent a week taking the transmission out my self to see what happened. When I took the differental cover off I found the gear that they dropped lodged in the differental.I later had to scrap the car. I dont know if I can take this to court because Patrick Jones sold the cottmans to some one else
