Here is the whole story in a nutshell of what happened to me and my children. and I am still fighting for what I deserve and to keep what I have left.

REAL PEOPLE, REAL ANSWERS , REAL QUICK, REALLY?

As everyone knows it is very hard to be a single mother these days. Well its even harder to be a single mother of 2 without a job.

I was doing quite well until Oct. 27, 2004.

I had a great job at Cat. And things were going well. I bought a house and my life started to come together after a very unhappy marriage.

Then it all happenedI was on my way home from work and a truck turned in front of me. I tried to miss it but it was just to close. I don't know why he turned, I was told he could plainly see me. I was told that all I kept asking was where are my children and are they alright. I didn't remember that I was on my way home from work to see my 8 yr old daughter off on the bus as I do every morning.

I was knocked unconscious , fortunately there was a truck behind me that saw the whole incident and stopped to offer his help, at this time he noticed that my car was on fire and ran to his truck to retrieve a fire extinguisher. He was able to keep the fire under control until the fire department arrived.

Now 5 months later I'm still not sure what is going to happen to my girls and I. I have had no income since this happened. I'm still unable to work because I am still under a doctors care and in therapy, as walking is still a big problem.

I received a letter from my mortgage company. They have informed me that they are foreclosing on my home, unless I can come up with the full amount of the loan.

I have gone for energy assistance because my utilities are going to be turned off. But when they called to talk about assistance my phone had already been shut off, so instead of notifying me by mail they just put my case on hold. I have recently contacted them and I am awaiting approval for assistance, but that only pays for Cilco and my water bill is still behind and they are now threatening to shut it off also.

This could all be avoided if the gentlemen's insurance Company, Country Companies, would just pay my lost wages.

Country Companies is refusing to help me, and I don't know why. I was under the impression that this is the reason we all pay such high insurance premiums.

I'm not asking for anything that I am not entitled too. Just lost wages, at this time, so my girls and I will not be put out on the street with no where to go.

I have heard of people having to live in cardboard boxes, because of this type of hardship. But I really thought that these things happened just in the movies, I guess I am nave . I don't know where to turn for help. I'm sure my attorney is doing all he can, but it seems that his hands are tied, until the courts decide Country Companies needs to comply. It would seem to me that the Country Companies would want to make me as comfortable as possible and not make unnecessary complications. What kind of people would want to turn a woman and her two children out on the street. I have always been able to provide for my children, so imagine what it is like to have everything you have worked for all your life be taken away and you are helpless to stop it. I'm just afraid that it will be to late and we will lose our home and everything we have worked so hard for, long before our turn in court.
