Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
(1) They claimed that each territory will only have ONE distributor. However, I have met another distributor that was assigned to the same territory. They lied to her that there is no distributor in our state.

(2) They claimed that the candles' burn times are between 40 to 80 hours depending on the size. However, even the largest one will not burn over 20 hours. After confronting them concerning the burn times, they now say the candles are mainly for decorating not for burning.

(3) When I asked about the money back guarantee, John McDonalds (Marketing Representative) told me that all their distributors have gotten their investment back within 6 months regardless if they signed up for the money back guarantee which is the same thing that all the references had told me. After reading all the details about the money back guarantee, we realized there will be a lot of paper work involved to qualify for the guarantee. So we chose not to participate in it. However, from other reports you can see that the guarantee is bogus. Even with the locating company that Country Kitchen Candles, Inc. has recommended, the time frame that they gave for the money back guarantee is still impossible to comply.

(4) This point will be the focus of my complaints. I believe they have set up false references to deceive the investors into giving them money. This alone should be a criminal act of scam. The references were:

Madeline from Woodeville, TX

She claimed that she has been with the business for about 1 years and she made her investment back the first 6 months. Her 2003 income was in 6 figures. She had 63 stores at the time we talked to her, and she is doing really well. She started out part time with a full time job then eventually she quit her full time job to run this business.

Michael from New York

He also claimed that he has been in this business about 9 months and he made his investment back in 6 months. He started out with 20 locations; at the time we spoke he had 40 locations. He was working full time with this business.

Cleo from Denver, CO

He also claimed that he'd made his money back in 6 months with 20 locations. He was working part time with this business, and he was getting into the jewelry products from Country Kitchen Candles soon.

We were pretty much sold by the people we had talked to about their experience in the business. After we got into the business, we realized all the claims about the income potential and the references are false advertising. With the poor products there is no way they are able to make their investment back in 6 months let alone to make a 6 figure income or make a living with this business. Again, I believe Country Kitchen Candles, Inc. has set up these references to deceive the investors to get into this business. They worked as a team to scam our money.

I've filed the complaints against Country Kitchen Candles, Inc. at BBB and the Attorney General in RI. Everyone who has been ripped off by them should do the same. The more people that file complaints, the quicker they will respond to solve the problem.

Bogus references

I found out by talking with other distributors we had been given the same people to contact. They all had similar things to say-how fabulous life was and they wish they had become distributors a long time ago..blah blah. Of course, after receiving my shipment of candles and horrible jewelry (that was screwed up too) I realized there was no way these people could be doing that well. Another thing, before my shipment came, I called a couple of the references back just to ask a couple more questions and their demeanor was totally different over the phone. Didn't feel the love if you know what I mean. In fact, they were rude and abrupt. As far as the money back guarantee goes? Impossible to meet the criteria. My locator company screwed me over, I managed to beg 7 store owners-not 30 to give the display a try. Several months later with virtually no sales it came down to -0- displays. No one wanted them.
