In March of 2007 I purchased a Remanufactured Transmission from Rome Ford L-M (Presently, Courtesy Ford L-M). I paid $1733.38 for it and it came with a 3yr/72,000 mile warranty. Now, before I did this I checked on having my transmission rebuilt. It was going to cost me $800.00 to rebuild it plus another $300.00 for a torque converter. Having my transmission rebuilt only came with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. I thought about my options and decided the extra warranty was worth the extra money(wrong).

In May of 2007 the transmission started slipping. I took my truck back to the dealership. They diagnosed it and said I needed another transmission. Well they put another one in it under warranty (of course). I spoke with the mechanic about why the transmission tore up so soon (the truck is not driven daily). He said everything else was fine and that it must have been a bad transmission to start with. I was worried that my coolers may have been stopped up and he said he did a flow test on them and they were flowing a little low but they were in specs.

Well then in September of 2007 the transmission wouldn't shift. So I trailered it back to the dealership. This time it is Courtesy Ford Lincoln Mercury. They called me the next day and said my transmission was shot and that warranty was not going to cover it. I was very mad, $1700 wasted. I went up to the dealership and spoke with the service writer. He said warranty would not cover it because the truck has been "altered". THE TRUCK IS THE EXACT SAME WAY AS IT WAS WHEN THE FIRST TWO TRANSMISSIONS WERE PUT IN IT. Nobody said anything about it voiding my warranty. The truck does have bigger tires on it. But they are on Factory wheels. They sell brand new trucks with bigger tires on them than what I have.

I am very upset about the way Ford is handleing this. I have filed complaints, Wrote letters and sent emails. It has been about 3 weeks and I have heard nothing.
