I have had my share of problems with Cross Country Bank-not wanting to make payment arrangements when we went in my household from 3 incomes to 1 with a huge mortgage payment hanging over my head. They called my house day and night, called my work phone number. A couple of times, they left obscene voice mails, which were taped by the way. I guess that operator decided to take her frustrations out on my voice mail.

I ended up at a consumer credit counseling center here in NE PA. The counselor recommended I contact the PA attorney gerneal's office, which I did. I got an apology letter, but they gave the counselor such a hard time with working out suitable payment arrangements.

Last year, I refinanced my house and took out enough money to pay off my credit cards, including Cross Country Bank. My mortgage company wrote out the checks, overwriting each one so there was extra money on the cards once they were paid off. Every single one sent me a check for the overpayment except Cross Country Bank. They told me a few times that they wrote it off.

What they did is so illegal-my mother in law worked for a collections law office for years and they cannot write off your money. That is not theirs to write off. Not only do I have them on that, but they put the most untrue and outrageous comments on my credit report. So I have them on two things.

I have called so many times (from work so it is on tape) it is not funny. They think it is ok to tape you but if you tell them they are on tape, they swear at you and one operator said she was going to sue me. She did not even know my name-who was she going to sue? My employer? My company makes CCB look like a mom and pop operation and would eat them for breakfast. They have threatened to sue CCB before when they would not stop calling at work and for using foul language on my voice mail.

They lied saying they needed this and that and they were sending the check. It's only $35.12 but it is my money and now it is personal. I want blood, their blood for what they have put me, my family and some of my co-wokers through with their ignorant operators who probably just crawled out from under some rocks.

CCB needs to be taken down some notches and it is good to know that I am not alone in this. I have everything documented from the beginning, even with the fake names they give (I think everyone was named Sally). My counselor at the agency has her records, too. They also treated her badly.

What needs to be done is do not give up and do not give in. Keep fighting, keep calling and writing. Be a thorn in their side for a change. Stick together and we can defeat them.

I would like to know if anyone else has gone through what I have gone through. Post your response here. And for the so called CCB employee-that was some kid or immature adult on drugs. Those people won't post here becuase they have no idea how to use a computer. They cannot look up your account, they cannot take your phone number out of their system, they cannot find your payment even though the check cleared. I don't even think half those people can read and/or write. Where do they find people like that? Oh, I know. Under some rocks.

I received my check today from CCB in the amount of $35.09. I am so happy this is finally behind me and a year and a half later I have my refund. But what I had to go through to get it. I will never have another credit card-no matter who is offering it. They are nothing but trouble. Good luck to everyone in their dealings with CCB! Alison

I ended up writing to the FDIC in regards to all my problems with Cross Country Bank. After several months and a letter from CCB stating that they were refusing to refund me my money, a letter was sent to me from the FDIC. Apparently, they looked into this further and told CCB to pay me my money. A check is going to be issued in the near future. Here is the address to write to in case anyone here has a problem with CCB and cannot work it out with them: FDIC Division of Supervision and Comsumer Protection 2345 Grand Boulevard Suite 100 Kansas City, MO 64108 The phone number is 1-800-378-9581. Please be patient with this office as it may take some time to resolve your complaint. Mine took about 4 months. But it has been resoloved to my satisfaction. I truly believe if this office gets enough complaints about Cross Country Bank, something maybe done about them up to and including terminating their licence to do banking. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose. Good luck ewveryone!

Just thought id let you know that in california they have a class action law suit against them, last month when i got my statment there was a letter in there stating that a judge in orange county has accepted the class action law suit. So it looks like there days are numbered, i to have had problems with cross country, just this month they put some bogus overlimit fee on my credit card for no apparent reason, i did call them and they stated that it was a computer automated error and it will be refunded but that remains to be seen, well hope you have luck with getting your money back
