In February 2014 my engine blew, I called crosstown engines to see about them rebuilding me an engine, the cost was $2500, not including the removal of my old engine and many other extras along the way, to say the least I spent almost $6,000 on this engine. Within the first month the following happened, it ran like crap, so I called them and told me it would cost another $300 to fix it but would not tell me what it was even after asking Lou many times, then I tought, why did I have to pay more for something that should have correct in the first place. Next I heard a ticking whenever I went through the drive thru, I had talked to a guy at the car show and he told me to turn up the radio and laughed, I then talked to Lou and he said it could be something bleeding off and to let it go for a month, which I did, still ticking. I called Lou and told him I thought it was either a broken exhaust manifold bolt or a missing one, he said we're too bust we have too many cars in here right now, call me later. This continued for months, during that time I went through 5 02 sensors and a failed e-test due to the sensors. Last year I began having the same problem, running like crap again, instead of taking back to them, I took it to my local Chrysler dealer, turns out it was the crank sensor and the cam sensor, which by the way you should never put in aftermarket parts like these, thay should all be OEM, not like crosstown they used aftermarket, problem solved. Still had this lingering manifold problem that won't go away, tried calling again, same response, too busy. The truck ran great, it's a 2004 Jepp Grand Cherokee Overland with a 4.7 h*o motor by the way, right up until 2 months ago, same problem started running like crap as I was trying to pass someone on the highway, took it back to Chrysler, scan showed same issues , cam and crank sensors, they replaced them under warrenty, but it was getting worse and worse, and low and behold my engine warranty of 3 years or 60,000k was over by 700k. The dealer ended up putiing a camera in the engine and found out that crankshaft reluctor wheel was damaged, therefor sending incorrect signals to PCM, power control module as to when the egine should fire. I called Crosstown, and the first question out Lou's mouth was this, " How did it get damaged?", I told him I didn't know as no one and Imean no one has taken that motor apart, he asked me the same question again, I told him the only ones to touch the inside of that motor was the guys at Crosstown engines and that the only other part I had changed was the starter. He was adament that they didn't do it that I had someone tear into the motor which has not happened even to date. I was told that there was NO, damge to the cam and crank sensors so what ever damaged that wheel happened during the building of it, Lou at Crosstown adamantly denies that fact, and I knew he would, so for the last 2 months I have been without a truck and driving someone elses car. Lou said to bring it down to him and they would work with me on, I said the only way you guys would work with me is to have some else build me a new motor and you guys pay for it, as expected he said not happening. He had told me that I had an appointment earlier to bring my truck in, but there was never one set up. These guys feed more s*** than a herd of cows and sting even worse. They rip people off and yet seem to get away with it. Once they have your money anything after the fact doesn't matter to them. Since I had the engine done, I am out $8,000 dollars and still have no wheels, as far as I'm concerned they should be shut down for good, but not befor they get me a new engine. STAY AWAY FROM CROSSTOWN ENGINES ON MUSGRAVE STREET, they will rip you off and charge you more than the job was worth. I just wish there some way I could get them to replace my engine with a brand new one, after all the s*** I've put up with this one, but I know in the real world, that won't happen.I had to borrow some money to pay this, it was a cash deal.
