I took my 2008 F150 to Custom Exhaust to replace my stock muffler with performance muffler for a better sounding exhaust. When i arrived their I spoke to Doug ( owner ) and he asked me what I was their for and I told him I wanted a better sounding muffler, and he said ok no problem and then asked me if I wanted a tip welded on also, and I said yeah ok.
So they bring my truck in welded on new muffler and tip, I paid for it and left, when i got home I noticed the tip they welded on looked like it was hanging low, So I looked closer and they welded it too far out so I took it back and talked to Doug again and he said he could fix it and make it higher by making new pipe for 80 bucks more, so i agreed to let them do it, and when they got done with i couldn't believe the frankinstinish out come of my exhaust.
They welded new pipe after the last exhaust hanger, so they reused part of my old exhaust when they said they were gonna make new pipe, and the new pipe that was welded on had ripples in it and it was collapsed, the reason for it being like that is because they have a cheap bender and don't have the right equipment to do good exhaust work, rippled/collapsed exhaust pipe are not good because it restricts the exhaust gases from coming out. The right way to do Custom exhaust work is with a Mandrel bender, Mandrel bends are bends are smooth with no ripples and no restriction to exhaust system.
So I looked under my truck for a closer look of what they did and the welds they did were terrible and looked like someone was untrained welded my exhaust together. I talked to Doug again and he was very rude with me and told me I should have told him what I wanted and if I wanted it fixed it was an additional 60 dollars, he told me he would have to order a mandrel bent exhaust pipe, he should have told me that they don't have the right equipment to do custom work.
So I thought about it and decided not to let them do any more damage to my vehicle. I spent 354 dollars total for a terrible exhaust system, I ended up buy a cat-back exhaust system all mandrel bend on line for cheaper than the frankinstinish exhaust work they did on my truck. They lost my business and everyone I tells business. Very upset with that shop!
