Custom Shutters International Shutter Factory SCAMMED FROM A SHUTTER ORDER OVER $1300.00 Allen, Texas
We had done business with this alias Shutter Factory now called Custom Shutters International a few years ago so we didn't get another quote when we wanted to put shutters in our living and den areas. He came out with a women to measure took over $1300.00 (half of the invoice) to start the job and told us it would take 6-8 weeks unless we wanted to expedite which would have been another $400 - we elected to wait.
At 6 weeks I sent an email and asked for a status. William (Bill) Wallace, owner, replied that it was taking the full 8 weeks and that he would let me know the week it went to paint.
At 9 weeks I started calling, no answer, left messages on the company phone and on the week-ends an answering service was answering and nobody will call or email me back. I went by the office that is on the website and the company was non-existent.
I went back to the original order a few years ago and found the salesperson, called him and he told me that the company went out of business over a year and a half ago. I told him he and his partner (wife/girlfriend) was in our house in September this year measuring and took half of our money.
I am going to the district attorney, have filed a complaint to the BBB and now have found other people lthat were scammed as well with their stories on the web. This man needs to be stopped and held accountable and I hope the system work for us and the others that have worked for their hard earned money.
