I received a letter in the mail from the Custimers Compenastion Center informing me of the official release of the 2011 Customer Compensation Lottery Draw.  Organized for all customers of the major stores in U.S. and Canada as follows (Best-Buy, Wal-Mart, Sears, Lowes, Home-Depot, Zellers, Staples, IKEA, Master Card, AMEX, CVS, JC Penney, Walgreens, K-Mart) In conjuction with North American Sweepstakes Association

My lucky winning numbers was drawn and I am supposed to win $50,500.00.  I was one of 20 declared winners from a total of $1.11 Million US Dollars

Enclosed was a check made out to me in the amount of $3,550.00 written on a check from Interlake Mecalux, Inc. located in Melrose Park, IL  60160.  This was to cover my tax amount of $2,500.00.  With a statement saying, "please make sure you get the address to forward this payment to the appropriate agent."

Following was a statement saying do not attempt to use this check until you call and speak with the claim agent.  Mr. Randy Morrison: 1-647-975-6489. for further clarification and Instructions on claiming my winning.

I googled the company issuring the check because I thought it odd to have a check from a different company.  It turned out to be a warehouse and shelfing business.  Then I googled Customers Compensation Center.  What appeared was RIPOFF Report.  I did not call the agent.

Thank goodness I didn't fall for the award claim scam!   Thank you Ripoff report!

Mr. Randy Morrison would've requested you cash the check and ask that the $2,500 amount be sent via Western Union to him.
Meanwhile, the check would have not cleared and your bank would have been coming after you to make it good.

If someone were to win a legit prize of $50,000, I would think the agency would forward IRS tax forms to be filled out and returned prior to the award and then release the check.

Just thinking out loud.
