We bought a DACOR gas range RSD30S July 2005. We had a Dacor a six burner cook top in our previous home and never had any problems. This new range is another story. 



It would get so hot when we first used the self clean setting I thought it was going to burn down the house. It still get my granite counters and cabinets very hot when I self clean but now I move all flammable items away from the range. 



While still new and under warranty the oven door glass had a build up of moisture. In fixing the moisture problem the inside of the oven door chipped in multiple places. 



Then I noted the stainless steel cook top would not stay clean. It is always brown around the burners even though I clean up all spills immediately. My previous six burner DACOR cook top never had this staining problem so I am guessing they lowered the quality of the stainless steel they used to make this range.  



Four years later (12/2009) we still have the previous problems noted above but now I see that the front of the oven than contains the control panel has cracked. The customer service department at DACOR acknowledged that this has been a problem but they consider it to be cosmetic. They told me I could order replacement part #76480B from apdepot.com for about $300.00 plus shipping and installation. 



DACOR sells very expensive appliances and then expect customers to pay to repair manufacturing defects they call cosmetic.  We are very disappointed with DACOR and its customer service responses and will never buy another DACOR product!
