Here's my story. I went to David's bridal to look for a wedding gown. All of my bridesmaids and my mother-in-law accompanied me. We got there and the sales girl was somewhat rude and seemed as though we were a burden to her. I tried on several dresses but didn't find one that I loved. I ended up going back a week later and found one that I wanted. Again, the same sales girl was not overly friendly. I tried on a 4 and told her that I wanted to buy a 4 because the 4 I tried on was a little loose. She said ok and that was that.

We picked out a bridesmaid dress after trying on several. My girls all ordered the same sizes that they tried on because they either fit perfectly or were a little big. All were ordered and all was said and done.

Out of 6 dresses ordered (mine included,) all 6 were too small! If it had been just mine, I would've thought maybe I gained a few lbs. All 6 were too small. David's Bridal claimed that they tell all of their brides to try them on before they leave- no one told me to do so. They also said that they tell everyone to buy a size larger to allow for some leeway with sizing since the ones tried on are stretched out- no one told me this when I purchased it. I pitched a fit. I was even a bridesmaid the weekend after my own wedding and went to pick up my bridesmaid dress and no one told me to try it on. I had to ask to try it on. A girl in line in front of me picked up her wedding gown and all they said was "Thanks and here's your receipt."

After going back and forth with sales reps and finally management, they agreed to allow me to exchange the gown if it was determined that it could not be let out. She told me the new gown would be available May 5th. I told her that my wedding date was April 25th. She replied.... "okay so it would be ready May 5th." I told her that my wedding was, once again, APRIL 25th. She didn't understand until I told her that May comes after April!

Luckily, it could be let out. They wanted to charge me for it but I refused. They did charge me to put in a bustle and add a strap ($75) and wanted to charge me $140 to hem it. I took it elsewhere to hem it.

The best part? True story: When I went in to meet with the alterations lady to have it let out, she zips it up and proceeds to tell me that it fits fine. I told her that I was not comfortable and that I couldn't breathe or laugh. She again tells me that it fits fine. I told her that I cannot take a deep breath. She says, verbatum... "Well how many deep breaths do you really think that you're going to take during your wedding?!" I looked at her in sheer amazement that she could ask me that.

All in all- I had a beautiful wedding despite the major headache that I received from David's. One last thing.... David's called me a week AFTER my wedding to see if I still wanted to exchange the dress for another size.

First of all, I am sorry you had a bad experiance with them! I HATE Davids Bridal! I was living in NC when I was preparing for my wedding. They had their famous $99 gown sale going. I am not a skinny girl by any means. I called and asked them if they had larger gowns included in the sale. I was told yes, come on down. I made an appointment and went with my sister. The drive was over 40 minutes long, and when I got there, they acted like I didn't have an appoinment and that they were doing me a favor to even talk to me. I got stuck with a hefty chick with a rude attitude. When she found out I wanted a dress for $99, she made a face. She told me to look at the rack and walked away. I didn't see my size, or anything close to it, so I had to go find her, and ask. She looked me up and down with a sneer and said, "We don't have dresses like that for girls in your size." I just took my sisters hand and walked out of the store. I found a beautiful dress for $200 somewhere else, and looked and felt like a princess! Scew DB, who needs them anyway? Congrats on your wedding! Hope your big day was as awsome as you wanted it to be!
