My son was complaining of back pain, so I took him to Delran Chiropractic. I made sure my health insurance covered the visit, and the company said yes as well Delran Chiropractic said yes. After my son had the treatment, I was told that health insurance didn't cover there first time visit fee and I would need to pay there $40 first time visit fee. I want to point out that she told me this AFTER the treatment was done and AFTER she said it was covered and after my health care company said they covered it.

The next day, I called them and told them not only did she tell me it was covered, but my insurance company said I was covered. She than came up with an excuse that she didn't know that I was covered and that she would need to confirm that with my insurance company. Well, 1 hour later I recieved a call from her and she said that she was sorry and that I was right, that I was covered.

I immediately told her that I expect a check mailed out to me and that I am no longer coming to there office. 5 minutes later the chiropractor calls and says that it was just a mistake and that this was no reason that I should leave. I told him that if they could do this, than why wouldnt he overcharge my insurance company. If this would happen, I would lose all my medical for the year and that I am not taking this chance. I told him that I'm done with there company and I wanted a check mailed out ASAP.

He said your check will be mailed out and that he's sorry that I decided to leave. This is just 1 good tip to you all who are overcharged at any kind of office. IF THEY TRY TO OVERCHARGE YOU, DON'T PAY. WALK OUT OF THERE AND DRIVE OFF.

Please be advised that this is not a rebuttal but just an update on the report. I am happy to say that on 5/9/07 I recieved a check for the refund. I am not happy to say that they tried to act like a jerk as the last name on the check is MISPELLED. I hope my bank will accept it, but even if they dont I will drive right back to there office and get another check.

I would like to say thank you for your comment. I do want to tell you that it is not a copay as my insurance company charges me $5 for primary physician's and $10 for specialists. The reason my copay is so cheap is because I am retired from a government agency, so me, my spouse, and my dependants are covered.

Just a suggestion - the company I'm insured w/ currently requires a 40$ copay for specialists (which would include chiropractic care). Make sure the 40$ isn't a copay. as I've not known many specialists to merely charge 40$ for an office visit (unless the patient was uninsured & cut some slack). Cheers~

Please be aware that this is NOT a rebuttal but just an update on the report. I am here to report that I still haven't recieved any check or credit to my debit card for the $40.00. If I don't recieve my money back, I will be filing a report with my local police, District Attorney's office, BBB, American Medical Association and anyone else that I have to. This company is a cheat and a crock and they think that because that they work in a small New Jersey town that no one will start any problems with them. Well they are going to really be upset once I start a whole lotta trouble with them. I will keep filing updates on my report as soon as anything happens.
