Last evening I stopped by a Denny's Restaurant in Westminister, Md. The service was great. I ordered a Chicken Fried Steak off the menu. When the chicken finally arrived it looked a bit like the picture on the menu. I was hungry so I dug in. Yuck. What was that thin, 3/16 thick layer nasty tannish-grey stuff between the thick breading where there should have been white chicken meat I wondered? It tasted nothing like chicken and it looked nothing like chicken. As I proceeded with my meal I tried to disguise my disgust from my guest. The paddy-like concoction was gross and became more so the more I ate. I cannot believe that your regular customers would consume something that they could identify visually or by taste or smell. It is now Sunday and after a healthy breakfast I can still taste that repulsive stuff you sell as chicken.

That was steak that I ordered? Your chicken steak is really Beef steak? Cubed? Your definition of cubed seems to be different from that of Websters Dictionary. How could I be so ignorant as to not know that? If I consume foodstuff and am not able to tell if it is Chicken of steak, by taste, smell or sight, there is something wrong - and not with me. I find Denny's food deplorable. I can not imagine for the life of me why anyone would patronize Denny's.
In the Dark Ages they ground any parts of an animal they could find and stuffed the mass into a piece of gut so no one could tell what they were were consuming. We have come more than full circle. I know that the law even allows meat preparers to grind up a certain percentage of bone and add it to the "meat" mix. (as long as the particles are very fine and cannot cause damage to teeth.) Because the allows horrid practices does not make them manditory.
I know that in this busy life we live not everyone can eat healthy. But it is not difficult to draw the line somewhere by making a habit of stopping by restaurants where one can define what they are eating simply by looking at it, tasteing it or smelling it. Many restaurants are able to accomplish this. Why not Denny's?

I see your problem, you did not know what you ordered. Chicken Fried Steak is a cube steak fried like chicken. It is not chicken.
