d**k Simon, Central Refrigerated ripoff, inconsiderate, mean West Valley City Utah
Hi.. I happened to discover this web site by putting in d**k Simon to find a number for my job application and I must say I have a few complaints about d**k Simon aka Central Refrigerated. I worked for d**k Simon from 1/98 to 2/2002 and when they decided to file for bankruptcy they never let us drivers know what they were planning to do. I got a load from florida to the terminal in California because my dispatcher told me I was going to get a new truck there. I was all excited so when I got there he told me to drop my trailer in the yard and stand by to find out where my new truck was, well needless to say about 4 hours later I find out that I am being let go because they were selling off a bunch of truck due to bankruptcy! So here I am about 300 miles away from home with my dog and all my belongings and they said oh well we will get you a bus ticket to get you home, well you can't go on the bus with a dog!! so I ended up having to use my own money 260.00 to rent a mini van to get home and they could give a crap less!! Then about 3 years later I did a stupid thing and decided to get rehired by Central Refrigerated which is the new company that formed after d**k Simon went under.. Well within 6 months of working for them I had a screwed up female dispatcher who made me drive when I wasn't suppose to be driving like in bad weather,ect.ect.. anyways it ended up where she got me a load to the terminal in Atlanta, Ga. and I needed to get my truck fixed at the shop she demanded that I take a load down to Florida and I told her no that I needed to get my truck fixed she told me to clean my truck out and leave!!So here I am again stranded except this time I was 2500 miles away from home and they never tried to get me home and could care less!! I could go on and on about this company how ruthless they are and the way they treat there drivers but I will end for now.. I just needed to put in my 2 cents worth..
