We just renovated a home we purchased and used Direct Buy to purchase almost everything. Really must say that it was a great experience. The representatives were helpful, we found everything we needed, and most importantly, we saved a lot of money!

Okaysome more info. On Wednesday May 24th I spoke with a Mr. Biele (?) the owner of the Direct Buy my mother and I signed up at. First, he was completely patronizing and second, every time he would ask me a question, he would interrupt me at about my third word. I couldn't answer anything. This man is a complete a*s! What I could gather from the very one-sided conversation was this: we (my mother and I) were liars. We were making everything up. Then Thursday I get a call from Mr. Biele and he states that he is indeed going to release my mother and I from our contract. Mr. Bile said he was going to have Mr. Dillon (refer to previous post) handle the details and it should be finished no later than the following Tuesday. I asked him about our deposit and he stated we would get it when we signed the cancellation agreement. I was also told that I would not be allowed into the store since my mother was the primary. Fineas long as we were out of the contract and received our refund. Then on Friday I got a phone call from a Mr. Walker. He stated that Mr. Biele was indeed going to cancel our contracts and that he (Mr. Walker) was to make the arraignments for the cancellation. He asked if we could come into the store Saturday (today) and I said sure. I asked again about the refund and he stated we would receive it at the signing of the cancellation and that my mother would receive it back in the form in which she made it (cash, check or credit). Well, I can't go into details (that was part of the termination agreement) but I will state this for the record: My mother and READ this cancellation agreement thoroughly and then signed. Mr. Walker stated he was going to make a copy for our records, fine. Well, he comes back and asks for our membership cards and we ask for our refund check. Guess what? NO CHECK! When Mr. Walker went to make a copy of the signed agreement, he wrote on the agreement that the check would be mailed on June 1st, 2006. Then he made a copy and presented it. Now it looks as though we signed the agreement agreeing to this condition. These guys are so incredibly deceptive and dishonest! Side note: while my mother and I were sitting waiting on Mr. Walker, we over heard the receptionist talking to yet another customer. This customer wanted to know how they could cancel their membership. NOT SURPRISED!

I am sure the Florida folks now wish they had gotten things in writing with the crooks at Direct Buy. I really hope consumers get together to file lawsuits against the charlatans at Direct Buy and put this pathetic company out of business and send the company principals to prison for fraud.
