  • I initially signed up for the Choice Xtra package, lifetime free HD, free HD-DVR and 2 additional standard boxes, a $10 off coupon and added a short time later the $100 off (additional $10 a month) for referring a friend.

 



  • I have ended up with being charged monthly for the HD that should be free and  company set me up with the lesser package of Choice only.  They claim that I received a “WELCOME LETTER” and if I didn’t respond to that saying “that is too bad”. 



  • I expect a Welcome letter to say thank you for choosing DirecTV, not that if your company gets it wrong and I don’t see it…. “That’s just too bad”.

 

·        I was charged $21 to set up the billing directly to my Visa card and told this was mandatory to be with DirecTV. On my last call was told I didn’t have a direct billing set up and there was nothing they could do, yet my credit card is being charged.  My friend that I recently referred on the $100 special said she was told that a $21 charge was for mailing the receiver. Every time we talk to someone we get completely different information. 

 Maybe that is why they mandate a Two-Year Contract.  Many would cancel long before the 2 yrs., after experiencing the terrible customer service/ inconsistencies and wrong charges/set-ups. 

I guess these big companies think that customer service isn’t needed and that’s why they need to lock them into a 2 yr. Contract!   I will say the installer was a delight.  The only best part of this bad experience.  Even Comcast has better customer service than Directv and that is NOT saying anything good for them.
