Dish - EchoStar ripoff harassing phone calls up to four a day from 1-866-668-8047, no one on phone line when I said hello. Littleton Colorado
I do not have a DISH satellite. However, starting on July 13th, 2006, I started receiving automated phone calls from 1-866-668-8047 on one of my cell phones. The first three calls on the 13th went to voice mail but there was only one partial automated message left that I could not understand. I received three more calls on the 14th. I actually answered one of these calls. I said hello and received no response so I said goodbye and hung up. I even called the number back and got two beeps then was disconnected. I then received four calls from the same number on the 15th before turning this cell phone off.
It was at that time I began an internet search to find out who owns this number. After paying $14.95 I received the information below: US SEARCH - Below are the results of your completed search - Reverse Phone Search ** The Dish (866) 668-8047 Riverfront Call Center, 5701 S. Santa Fe, Littleton, CO 80120 **
I do not know what this company wants since there is not a person on the line when I answered the phone. I, however, want the calls to stop! I have already filled a complaint with the Colorado BBB and plan on filling harassment charges with my local police department and the local police department for Littleton Colorado.

I agree with the original poster. I notice that this person posted their information a few years ago. Here it is, April 2010, and these people are still getting away with these calls! What good is being on the no call list when they don't do anything about the people that harass you?
I moved a few weeks ago and had to get a new number. Apparently, AT&T is greedy because they don't let a number "cool off" before they are selling it to someone else, ergo, you get all the left over calls. One of the numbers calling me repeatedly is 866-668-8047. The first couple times they called, I would answer, and get nothing. Then it started releasing recorded messages stating that my bill was due and my service would be cut off in 5 days. Thing is, I'm not even a dish customer! These calls were like 4 times a day! Who ever the person was, she wasn't even a month behind. They were harrassing her about a bill that was about to become due!
Last week, I finally called the number back and went through all the prompts. I finally got someone on the phone and they passed me back and forth like a tennis ball. When I finally got to the right department, it took them over 20 minutes to get my number removed! Then they had the nerve to ask me for my information! I told them my info is neither here nor there because I was not and did not want to become a Dish customer.
Long story short, after all this, I am still getting these calls. I just can't help but wonder why nothing is being done about it? Besides, I thought it was now against FTC rules to call people with recorded messages?
